It sure is. But keep convincing yourself and anyone that would listen to you to the contrary.

You attacked America and I gave evidence as to why you are wrong.
    Try again.
evidence is that people want to flee **** holes to come here? Man, you got me!

it's evidence that there are plenty worse places than America, nothing more. Of which we already know...

point is, people who act like America is the GOAT are beyond patriotic, they are blind.

    Thought this was spot on

From birth, we here in the US are raised to think of this as the greatest country in the world. Well, it’s time to think again. We no longer live up to our own hype by almost any metric.

This past week has seen two new studies that have got to cut flag-waving Uncle-Sam-has-abs-of-steel boosters to their jingoistic quick. In the latest World Happiness Report, America ranked 19th. In the most recent Freedom House World Democracy Rankings, the US plummeted to a position right behind Argentina and Mongolia and on a par with Panama, Romania and Croatia. On top of that at President Biden’s inaugural press conference, he made reference to how poorly America’s infrastructure ranks when compared to other countries—13th in the world as it turns out.
Economy, purchasing power, education (we aren't even a top 30 nation here),

According to the World Economic Forum, the U.S. ranks 27th on its global social mobility index. What that translates into is that on average it will take low-income Americans four generations to reach the mean income of the country.
As the recent mass shootings in Atlanta and Boulder underscore, this is all due in part to the fact that we have a crime index that places us after 79 other countries. One place we’re almost number one is total gun deaths, where we’re behind only Brazil.
lot's of tasty carrots in this article, which you won't read anyways.

Do you understand per capita numbers, percentages, etc and how they work? It seems every time it comes to stuff like this you lean on straight numbers which will always favour the US since it has 340 million people compared to the next biggest western democracy, Germany, having 80+ million. All you show with this is that the US has significantly more people than the other countries.

    15.4% of US is immigrants
    Canada - 21.3
    Australia - 30.0
    New Zealand - 27.4
    Spain - 15.2
    UK - 14.1
    Sweden - 20.0
    Norway - 16.1
    Netherlands - 13.4
    Belgium - 17.2
    Germany - 15.7
    Switzerland - 29.9

The US takes in an average amount of immigrants compared to other western democracies which doesn’t mean much in determining who is the “best”

Our kids won't have the life we had. I know that is a small thing to some posters, here, compared to owning the left, cleaning up our boo-boos in history for little Joanie's sake, or supporting the Orange Man.

    Crazy arse world, huh?
As a Canadian, this scares me, long term. As you said, social unrest and fighting. I wouldn't be surprised if the USA just comes and takes the water. Canada has rights to around 50% of 4 of the Lakes, with Michigan belonging all to the US. When the time comes, the US will probably come and take it by force.

Ultimately, population control will fix itself, as there simply won't be enough natural resources. All of us will be long gone, probably our children too. But that day isn't terribly far off in many parts of the globe. In the next 30 years, scientists are now predicting that you won't be able to survive in the south without air condition for example.

Not to turn this into a doomsday movie haha. But the planet will be fine eventually, but it will either be because we did something about climate change and made drastic changes, or it will be because the planet hit the "rinse" cycle and wiped most of us away as it reset itself.
My point about population control was hopefully we take care of it ourselves, before we get to the suffering and dying. I truly am worried about what my children's future will be when they are in their 50's and 60's.

what a crock of smelly turds that
article was. Biden actually mumbling crap about being 13th in infrastructure was amazingly poignant. When are you packing your bags to head for Niger, Hawkeye?

No, no, no Bram. Smaller countries should just double their population overnight to let in as many immigrants as the US.

Also, I wonder how long it takes him to realize that his ancestors were also immigrants once?

Trust me when I tell you, as an outsider looking in, America is not looked upon fondly by the rest of us.

My thinking is simple. I don't care if anyone thinks that the US is the greatest country or if they think it is the worst country. Leave if you don't like this country. Stay if you like it. When I see "stats" that some wussie think tank tells me the US is worse than Niger, Venezuela, or Mongolia and people here agree with it, then go. By all means, leave. Salute the flag of Venezuela, Bow to Xi and genuflect to whoever Niger has as its boss. Just go and shut up about it.

That is fine and the feeling for a large part is mutual. I don't know where you live but if it is Canada, I think your PM and government are Socialist idiots. Australia, same thing but is slipping closer to Nazism . Same thing for New Zealand. And I love the people in those two countries.

The think also is I think that pretty much, the so-called allies of this country are simply envious and jealous of the US. Some of it is really comical in that without the US these countries would be goose stepping in time to ****** German Oompah songs or dancing whatever pathetic table dance is where the idiots kick out their legs and hop around like monkeys on fire.

The strength of this country used to be its working people and still is. Socialists have done their best to eliminate the rank and file workers and the middle class. Now we have about 1/3 of the population more atuned to not working and being "woke" and "privileged" than doing what their forefathers did to make American what it once was. Now these idiots attack what their parents and grandparent did as being uncaring, racist, militaristic, et al as if their lies were the truth.

I think that there is going to be a "reckoning" coming up. There is no way that the remaining two thirds of this country is going to allow its freedoms to be taken by a bunch of Socialist tyrants. It may be political but if they come for the guns and take other Nazi approaches, there will be consequences. Bad ones for them.

There’s been proposals about this, from BC and the Yukon, mostly for the last 60 years. Basically every province has laws against mass water exports now and the federal government strengthened those laws awhile ago too. I think CBC had a show about it 15-20 years ago where US had the PM assasinated and a new one brought in supported by big money to allow the water to flow.

You realize that Trump is about the closest thing the US has seen to the “Nazi approaches”?
