So, and anyone feel free to correct any errors, we currently have -

    Towns
    Dieng
    Patton
    Gibson
    Butler
    Bates-Diop
    Wiggins
    Okogie
    Teague
    Jones

I don't know if the Aldrich waiving has happened yet, but that's inevitable.

After the Bates-Diop signing, we're left with about $6m?

Assuming Rose will get a spot, which I'm okay with as long as it's at the minimum.

Still leaves us with multiple spots to fill - we'd need two more talls and two more veteran wings (given the only two reserve wings currently on the roster are untried rookies).

I've got a feeling we give Amile Jefferson another chance, be it another 2w contract or a spot on the actual roster. But we'd then need at least one more tall, especially given Patton probably doesn't play this season. Then come the wing reserves, with one of which we need to sign an actual impact player, not just a minimum or untried guy. If Wiggins or (the more likely scenario) Butler gets hurt, it's going to be tough, as we saw with Butler last year. We can't have a Georges-Hunt-type player as the back up.

We don't have money though. I imagine we explore trading Dieng for help, to balance out the roster. Vet minimums won't get an impact player for the Wolves. It would for a team with LeBron, but not us.

The one disclaimer I will add, is there isn't much money to go around this summer. So the cost of getting a solid FA is way lower than last year, and especially the year prior.

    from espn:

After all, just eight teams figure to start free agency with more cap space than the non-taxpayer midlevel. Of those teams, the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings seem likely to use their space to facilitate trades, and the Lakers and 76ers will surely be focused on pursuing superstars, starting with LeBron James. That leaves just three teams looking to sign non-max free agents for more than the midlevel: Dallas, Phoenix and the Indiana Pacers. If those four teams aren't interested, players will have few options.

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

There are going to be some bargain basement prices after the first round of signings as no one has money. Should be interesting.

that is our hope man. Will Barton, or Marcus Smart would be great. Maybe even Wayne Ellington, or Rodney Hood. We need someone to play 20-22 mpg off the bench at the wings, and you can't rely on rookies typically.

Sounds like Barton is going to resign with Denver...

Would LOVE Smart as we need some attitude.. Can't see the C's letting him go though.

    Never really liked Ellington...

Hood would be a nice get.....

My guess is that they will mostly be out of our range, but when the dust settles we may still have a few decent options.

What about the MLE? Do you know how that works? I'm assuming we'd still have to pay the tax if we exceed the cap?

Our bench is going to be terrible if we can only sign vet mins deals.

    I'm with you!

Don't think we could afford him now, but if last season's form is anything to go by, he'd be a great pickup.

227 threes made in the regular season - don't know if we've ever had a player hit that many?

That's what happens when your shelling out 123 million to Wiggs, Deing and Teague over the next 2 seasons.

Honest non-biased opinion Hawk. What is Wiggs actual value in regards to an annual salary?
