Heard from a Exec this afternoon that said the #Bulls have been 1 of many teams that have "called & done due dilligence" with the #Grizzlies for the 4th overall pick in next Thursday's @NBADraft & Chandler Parsons. CHI would have to come up with a acceptable deal & take on big $

I'd give them #22 plus whatever, Portis maybe ... but they need to keep #7.

    Portis, 22, top 10 protected 2020/unprotected in 2021.

They get their flexibility this year to sign FA's to pair with Conley and Gasol.
They get a potential starter in Portis.
They get a potential role player in 22nd.
They get a 2020 or 2021 draft pick for when that doesn't really work and they have to rebuild.

We get 2 top 7 picks this year.
We draft a SF and C.
We are now 5 deep with a young core.
We are in position in the summer of 2020 to be a major player in Free Agency and we have trade bait on top of it.

    Who says no?

This would be absolutely amazing if we could get the 4th pick for 22, Portis and a protected first. Proably would have to throw in Lopez or make it a three way for salaries to match though... Either way 4 & 7 would be amazing and even with that if they got rid of lopez and portis this team is still likely a bottom 10 team unless everything breaks well for them. So not only would you add a #9/10 pick next year but you have a solid core of Dunn/Lavine/Draft pick/Lauri/Draft pick and fill out your bench with holiday + Payne + Valentine and Felicio

If we had 4 & 7 would they go Doncic then Wendell Carter?? Or if luka goes top 3 do they go Bagley/JJJ then at 7 Mikal or Miles or Knox?

Salaries don't need to match except when going over the cap. We can completely absorb Parsons and still be under the cap.

Us sending Lopez would essentially negate the whole idea of why they'd be making the deal.

Thats not true.... If this was July 1 then you'd be correct. Bulls cannot go over the cap with a trade. When you try to use the trade checker you get:

Sorry, but this trade does not work
Due to Chicago being over the cap and having a post-trade Team Salary under the Tax Threshold and trading out less than $19.6M in salaries, the 50% trade rule is invoked. Chicago could not receive more than 150% plus $100,000 or no more than $5,000,000 in additional salaries (whichever is lesser) of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here.

Due to Memphis being under the cap and choosing to invoke the Cap Room rule, Memphis could not go over the cap by more than $100,000 of post-trade Team Salary, which did happen here. Also, Memphis met the requirements of the Hard Cap rules of staying under the Tax Threshold plus $4M for adjusted post-trade Team Salary.

This trade failed to meet the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement."

This was portis for Parson FYI

Thats using last years salaries bro. We have shedded a ton in Wades contract. Notice we still have Vonleys contract (which he is a FA)

U can also Pre Nogotiate a trade like the Cavs did with Love. The trade may not actually occur but it might as well.

NBA Fiscal year doesn't end until July 1st friend. So they still have those contracts on their cap.... Draft is in June so Bulls dont have all that cap space yet
