    Vikings Extend Eric Kendricks

    [https://pbs]

    Ian Rapoport

    @RapSheet

    The #Vikings are locking up star LB Eric Kendricks to a 5-year, $50M extension, per @MikeGarafolo and me. A key part of their D just got paid. He gets $25M guaranteed. [https://abs-0][https://abs-0][https://abs-0]

    I like it , but I'm nervous who we'll give up by extending him.

    I'd like to keep Barr but he'd probably be the easiest to replace in the draft, if they decide we can't afford him. That just means we need to be sure we get Lorenzo Carter.

    Ya with this contract and big $ to cousins I think it's more and more likely we let at least one guy walk. Barr seems like the obvious one IMO. Wayne's would be next in line but I expect a little cheaper for him.

    Diggs/hunter gotta stay

    Could be. I just think Waynes will be the cheapest and CBs tend to take a few years to develop under Zimmer. I think Diggs will be the odd man out just because his price tag will be ridiculous.

    Nice! Just a little higher than I expected but not by much. I figured $7 million in the FA thread. I think this has to mean the Barr is out. I think Waynes is more important due to the fact that he played real well last year and we are in a clear passing league. Also, lets be honest...we just don't utilize Barr's strengths imo.

    Now, will we attempt to trade him or just keep him for this year?

    His cap hit this year was just shy of $2 million so there will be a significant cap hit. My guess is the guarantee will significantly drop year 4 and 5.

    I think this means we chose Kendricks over Barr, and rightfully so. Kendricks is simply the much better player between the 2. I wonder if we are gunna look to move Barr during the draft or if we’re going to keep him for this year’s run?!?!

    Seems they have had some interest in Lorenzo Carter. Trade Barr and draft Carter?

    I wonder?? Could we potentially move Sendejo into the 3rd down or obvious pass down LB'er spot with Harris playing Safety?

    I agree. Kendricks is in a different class than Barr. There's always talk about Barr's upside, but I feel he's overrated. Solid, but he will get over paid somewhere other than Minnesota.

    You all are confusing. Just because Kendricks was extended doesn't mean Barr is gone.
