Why won’t our media press people like this?

The Raise of Censorship In The Media.

I never been for censorship, even for kooks, and racist. Once you allow the government to censor for the old excuse of protecting the public, you open the door for them to suppress speech that challenges their authority or game plan. No matter how much you hate someone who is speaking, the antidote to bad speech is more speech, not censorship.

We have seen during the beginning of the Iraq invasion the censoring of the Dixie Chicks for daring to talk bad about George W., and the public sat back without a word. The leaders of the anti-Iraq invasion movement were viciously smeared by the media.

Later with Alexis Jones, and everybody said, well he is a nut. And recently the vicious smears of Bernie Sanders and his supporters, and Tulsi Gabbard.

Being in the progressive wing of the democrat party, I am starting to notice more progressive channels were been punished for what they broadcast. The Conco Couch was suspended for one week, I will check out why as the week goes on, but I watch them occasionally for their coverage of protest marches not or barely covered on national media. Standing Rock for an instant where I saw the use of attack dogs on protesters like in the Bloody Selma incident of the early sixties. They are cage rattlers and attack both republicans and moderate democrats. They never went over the edge with their radicalism as to talk about overthrowing the government or attacking government officials as the far-right does.

Now Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks, a progressive site that pushes unknown progressive candidates, like the gang of four in the last election and this one where progressives knocked out incumbent officeholders in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., and New Mexico.

Ana, who I am lukewarm to, got censor for having a Marxist economist Richard Wolff, a really good actor in the progressive movement, talking about the socialist victory in Bolivia, and whether Bernie can pressure a Biden administration. That is all. Facebook is now blocking their videos for violating' community standards that trigger certain keywords. The debate within the progressive circle is what were the keywords, Marxist or Bolivia or Biden.

In the past couple of years, various progressive news sites have fought their suspensions, some have won. It really doesn't matter what the subject matter was as long as they didn't encourage criminal behavior.

Going into a possible Biden administration, that has been suppressing the progressive during the primaries as well as over the last forty-some years, this doesn't look good for the progressive attempt to have a bigger say in government. Their progressive support, these podcasts, are being undercut.

I imagine the whole debate will come down to the ability of people like Mark Zuckerberg to have the right to dictate how his product is used vs, free speech on that platform that caters to millions of users. His monopoly, as well as Google, makes them the only game in town, thus they wield a lot of power on the internet, thus the spread of information. They become the gatekeepers.

Given that it's a pretty easy over, I think you'd get something like +2000 for an under wager if not more.

They are going to be the downfall of the GOP. The intense control over the party message has been a source of their power and the wide ranging message from different liberal and Democratic groups has made them less effective.

Splintering the message on the right will be the gate to their end.

apparently even some from Fox News have been calling out Trump and saying he lost, and should concede. this while some on twitter that support Trump are turning on Fox News.

I can understand Fox News doing this. regardless of what happens they will still be media, and since it's likely the election results will not change they have to considered their own credibility and how they act as media going forward.
