No it won't...we have our main ones locked up. We may lose a guy like Barr (big whoop). Barr has a $12 million cap hit right now and we may try to extend him if he takes a $7-$8 million range. Otherwise we'll let him play it out and walk or try to trade him. Then you have a guy like Hunter, he is good but is replaceable and we can extend him. The biggest one is Diggs who I assume will be a priority over anyone. We are still a top 10 defense without those 2, we don't need to be #1.

Also, it's only a 3 year deal. Kirk could have gotten a 5 year deal with the same annual amount. He is betting on himself again to one more deal.

This could make next off-season interesting when they have Barr, Kendricks, Hunter, Floyd, Robison, and Diggs as free agents. All those guys (except Robison) are in their mid 20s and coming off cheap deals. They'll all want to get paid.

Some of you acting like this is some surprise. It's been known since the Garappollo signing what the amount would likely be and now some of you act like the number is out of nowhere.

Robison btw will retire, if he isn't already...and neither Floyd will be around either. Barr, Kendricks, Hunter, and Diggs....those are the only 4, all next year, not all necessary.
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Yup. There's a reason why only 5 QB's have won a Super Bowl while taking up over 10% of the salary cap. It kills the ability to field a competitive team around them. Young had the largest cap hit to win a Super Bowl and that was 13%. Cousins is close to 18%.

NFC North is going to be fun though. Rodgers is going to want vengeance on the Vikings for what they did to him last year. Stafford doesn't have an idiot head coach anymore and Trubisky should get better.

its a good deal because of where the vikings are... if it was any other position id say just wait but the qb position can do the most for you in any 1 game at any one point... cousins puts them over the top... is he severely overpaid? sure... but again he puts them over the top.

Just because the amount was known doesn't mean it's less foolish lol

He doesn't put them over the top though... Not in my opinion at least.

I would say fully guaranteed is pretty "out of nowhere" as it has never happened before. Jimmy G is also 26 while Cousins is 29.

That's interesting. Do you have a link to the full list of SB-winning QBs and the percentage of the salary cap they took up?

Supposedly Brees turned down a $60M fully guaranteed deal to stay with the Saints.
    First 4 years:
    Brown - 54 GP, 27 GS, 261 catches (63.3%) for 3,561 yds (8.6 AVG), 15 TD
    Landry - 64 GP, 57 GS, 400 catches (70.2%) for 4,038 yds (10.1 AVG), 22 TD

Huh. Wonder why Landry is getting paid so much...

Barr is overrated and has a $12 million cap hit this year. Kendricks is good and we'll be able to sign him, Hunter is good but is replaceable, Robison will retire and Diggs is probably priority #1. All of our players that are defense is built around is already resigned. Harrison Smith, Rhodes, Griffen, Linval are all signed
