Boston got fleeced in my opinion....

That said, Bruins fans seem to like the trade, so there's that. I just think Nash is a shell of his former self and trading that many assets for an aging player rarely works out. They also still retain half of beleskys salary, so it's not like they dumped that contract completely (then maybe it would be worth it).

Bruins fan here. I hate it. If it was all of Beleskey's contract maybe it would have been acceptable. Way too much even if he wasn't a rental. I hate big deadline acquisitions.

He fits the style and Bergeron and Marchy are probably in their prime right now and could come down any time. You have that big first line, their third line is doing well and then you Krejci+Nash on line 2 with Heinen I think? They've got a decent top four and Rask is on. Time to go for it.

Nash is a dangerous piece to add in Boston since he can still put some points up. However, NYR appears to win this deal because they got a huge haul back for an older vet on an expiring contract. That is an expensive rental. NYR managed to add a pick and could position themselves for Noel or Bode Wilde towards the end of the first.

    Marchand Bergeron Pastrnak
    Nash Krecji Backes

Not bad for a team with least goals against per game.

    Chara McAvoy
    Krug Carlo

    Rask

    Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
    DeBrusk-Krejci-Rick Nash
    Heinen-Riley Nash-Backes

Really just need to add a 13th forward who could draw into a top-9 spot who can draw in, in case of an injury and the Bís are set. I wouldíve liked an upgrade to the top-4 on defense, but beggars canít be choosers

There's no cap space, correct? Chris Stewart fits the B's mold though. Carlo needs to be better going forward. Marchand needs to watch himself in the playoffs when tempers flare. He's probably the dirtiest player in the last 5-6 years no question.

Guess Brian Gionta is the answer ugh. I wouldíve definitely preferred Stewart or really anyone else though. Canít disagree about Marchand.

It's a sad day for me as a Ranger fan.
I don't know a whole lot about the guys we got in return, but I do know Nash can still play and could help the Bruins in their quest for the cup. The point production isn't what it once was but he is a very well rounded player.

I LOVE this deal as a Bruins fan the more I look at it. The first sucks to trade and Lindgren was alright but the bruins farm system is pretty much stacked right now. Spooner is a PP specialist who is having a decent season but is overall nothing special and they save 2M a year for the next 2 on Beleskey who is literally useless?... itís a homerun imo. Good move for NYR too because they get some solid assets... Bruins definitely didnít get fleeced though.

Debrusk is on line 2. Itíll be Krejci with Nash and Debrusk which is pretty awesome. Our third line has been great too (Heinen imo is one of the most untouchable players on our team). Though the 1st and Lindgren are solid assets the Bruins farm is loaded on top of the loaded young talent on the team. We literally couldnít keep it all

Bruins system is getting pretty stacked, they could afford to send these younger players over to get Nash, who immediately helps with their problem of scoring goals. Good move for them, even if they are retaining some salary they were trying to move.
