    2018 Cubs Spring Training Thread

Due to the tragic shooting that happened in Rizzo’s hometown of Parkland, FL, the Cubs have let Rizzo go back home for a few days to help out the community.

Also, one relative of Rizzo’s agent was killed in the shooting yesterday.

And so was an assistant football coach that Rizzo played for. Rizzo can take as much time as he needs.

Apparently Lincecum was throwing 90-93 at an open tryout or whatever. Might not be a bad option for us as extra depth, or maybe even a pen arm. Although you have to think some rebuilding team would be willing to give him a spot in the rotation, so I doubt he'd be there for us anyway.

Not that I'm super interested anyway, but it'd just be a cool comeback story I guess. I hope he can for some team, idk why just always liked the guy.

You don't know why you liked a pitcher who had 2 CY under his belt as a 25 year old?

He probably meant liked how he handled himself, went about his business, acted professional, ect.

Everyone knows how good of a pitcher he was.

Apparently that. High school had produced a few professional athletes. While he wasn't able to be there, being in the midst of his NHL season, Shayne Gostisbhere, a very, very good defenseman with the Flyers also is a graduate of that high school. Had no idea.

    Terrible event.
