Now if you got dirt on Jesus.... let me know. Otherwise you’re just talking about a bunch of fallible/sinful humans.
Not an accurate analogy. Christianity and Islam are belief systems. Atheism is the lack of a belief system centered around a deity. Nothing else. To lump together atheists because they don’t believe in God is like lumping together people who don’t collect stamps because they don’t have a hobby.

Atheists do not share a belief system like Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc do.

You know this is false... why do you keep doing that?

It’s not a belief in someone but it is a belief nonetheless. I don’t believe in aliens... another equally correct way of saying that is “my belief is that aliens do not exist”

You don’t KNOW that God doesn’t exist... that’s unknowable! Therefore you believe He doesn’t.

I'm going to call you on this BS. There are plenty of organizations of atheists that construct systems of belief in their groups. No it's not to the extent that religious folks do, but there very much so is a large contingent of atheists who identify with atheism the way religious do their religion.

No. Agnosticism speaks to knowledge or specifically a lack of knowledge. Atheism speaks to a lack of belief. Saying I do not believe in God is not the same as saying I believe there is no God.

I’m an agnostic atheist. No claim of knowledge but see no reason to believe.

Again Atheism is NOT a belief system. I’m sure many atheists share similar beliefs. But “atheism” is a very narrow and tiny box.

I think he's illustrating the similarities in the intent and actions of atheists with religious folks. Many people find a common ground in their atheism and it sets an arena in which atheists organize and move very much like organized religion

I’ve seen agnosticism used in the context of “not sure” but that’s incorrect. It’s not some sort of “halfway house” between believing and not believing. It addresses the question of knowledge, not belief.

Indeed there are clubs for atheists that express and espouse politicial beliefs, namely that government in specific and the public in general have no right to foist their beliefs into our lives. Clubs also articulate reasons why they don’t believe in God. And in a world filled with theists, they want people to know that it’s ok to not believe in God and to not feel pressured by the majority to believe. You can still enjoy national holidays like Christmas without going to church or professing belief in a Savior, etc. These clubs address behavior, not a system of beliefs.

To be fair, David Silverman’s club, American Atheists, does go as far as to say “There is no God,” a stance I personally am uncomfortable with since that is a claim that takes on a burden of proof.

But we’re not talking about individual clubs but rather atheism as a concept. It encompasses no belief system. You might even say it’s a “non belief” system.

I’ve heard it said, often, that atheism is responsible for much of the horror in our world history, citing as examples dictators like Stalin and Hitler. That’s every bit as accurate as saying people with mustaches are responsible for these horrors. That they were atheists was just as irrelevant as the fact that they wore facial hair.

I was referring to beliefs that might be considered unique to Atheists.

    But you knew that.
