Probably not a whole lot. Especially if they took on the whole contract, which I think they likely had to.

And I wonder where their payroll is going to finish.

    I'm sad for the Pirates.

Their projected payroll in 2019 is like $40M right now lol.

Giants aren't giving up any top prospects- no Ramos, Shaw, Beede, according to reports.

Maybe we define "top prospects" differently. My Guess then is if the giants aren't giving up anything substantial, then they're likely taking on the whole 14 million.
What does that put the giants Luxury Tax number at?

The beat option Giants could have gotten. The one guy ive wanted all offseason that was realistic. Great job Evans

Probably Pence in LF, Cutch in RF, and random young prospect in CF.

Who's higher in the Giants organization than Shaw and Beede? Obviously they're not top prospects in all of baseball.

Personally I think Lorenzo Cain is the best option the giants could have realistically gotten, though McCutchen is 1b and it doesn't sound like they gave up anything to get him.

Cain to Giants talks are gaining steam. Pretty easy to see the Giants looking a lot more like the 2016 version than the 2017 one. Last year was largely a fluke IMO.

He is not worth the money he is going to get given his age and that itll cost 2 draft picks.

IDK if they have the financial space to add him without going over the luxury tax.
If they say **** it to the luxury tax then that's one thing.

They are going over with this trade. They have to move some salary to stay under.
