    Jays acquire Yangervis Solarte

Finally a move. Very interested to see what he cost but he was a guy I wanted them to target.

He's a solid player with cheap price tag of $4.1M in 2018. He has club options for 2019 and 2020 for $5.5M and $8M respectively. I wonder who we gave up.

Like you he was a guy I was hoping they could look into. Hopefully it doesn't mean JD is gone.

I like Olivares, he had some solid potential but I make this trade any day. Thereís supposedly one more very minor spec.

I was surprised to see that Solarte was already 30. A little disappointed they didn't get someone a little younger. But it's another decent trade for this FO.

The other piece is Jared Carkuff. A reliever in the lower minors.

Overall, I like the deal for us.

It's a good deal for sure. I'm just curious about the domino effect of it for the Jays infield.

    Travis, Solarte, Tulowitzki, Diaz.

Any chance Travis moves to the outfield or something? Then Solarte plays 2B with Diaz as backup utility IF?

Solarte can play the corner OF too. But Diaz has options and should get some time in Buffalo to start the year.

This is obviously the end of Goins though, I still thought he might of been back, he did his job but Iím glad there moving on.

I'm much more comfortable having guys like Solarte and Diaz come in when Tulo and Travis go down. We've really patched up our MI depth from Barney/Goins.

Doubt it. I don't the team would get offers reflecting what he did this year. Probably better off keeping him through the first half at least.

Diaz/Solarte is a big upgrade over Goins/Barney. An overlooked reason why the team sucked last year was the bench. These moves should help.
