schedule is easier in 2018 to me than 2017. I view Vikes, Chicago, Indy, Jags, and Bengals as easy wins

no way do I let Wake go. I'm extending him again and adding a year

    Free Agency Targets
    Demetrius Harris TE (trade for)
Troy Niklas TE( Julius and Fasano are let go)
    2 OL starters
    Marquis Flowers LB
    Richard Sherman CB

    Key Players Gone
    Julius + Fasano
    Cutler + Moore
    Kiko + Timmons
    Ju'Wuan James
    DVP

    Restructure - TH, Pouncey, Suh
    Extend - Wake
    Resign - Landry
    Trade - DVP

    NFL Draft
    1. Arden Key DE LSU
    2. Mason Rudolph QB Oklahoma State (via DVP trade)
    2. Tremaine Edmunds LB Virginia Tech or Jerome Baker LB OSU
    3. Michael Gallup WR Colorado State
    4. Kendall Joseph LB Clemson
    4. OL depth
    6. Chris Herndon TE Miami U
    7. Nick Wilson RB Arizona
    7. OL depth
Key scares the s**t out of me, just because his frame reminds me more of Dion Jordan than Jason Taylor. Mason Rudolph doesn't impress me that much to take. Although it would be decent value in the 2nd.

I'm still hooked on Marcus Davenport though. He just looks so mean and nasty, and I think the man is going to boost himself into the top 15 with a good senior bowl and combine. You can't teach 6'7" and 255 lbs. That ain't no boy coming out of the college, that right there is a fricken man! If we could trade down a couple spots, grab an additional 2nd or 3rd, and still get Davenport, I would be ecstatic.

Or, like I said before, if we don't resign Landry, then I am pulling the trigger on Ridley cause Parker might not blossom into that #1, and then we're super screwed at WR.

    Resign:
    Landry
    Hayes
    Fasano
    Nate Allen

    Restructure:
Suh (he's gonna retire a phin anyways)
    Pouncey

Tannehill at $18M is not that bad compared to other QBs' out there. Not touching the contract cause we can cut bait in 2019.

    Release:
    Timmons
    Thomas
    James

We'll have plenty of cash to resign both Landry and Hayes and get a good OG as well. Draft speed on both offense and defense.

You haven't watched Smith if you think he only has speed. He dominated Oklahoma in the 2nd half and had quite a few moments where he just trucked a runner. Easily the best player on the field tonight. He may not even make it to us with Oakland ahead of us.

I don't think LB is as important as a pass rusher and I seen Smith beat way 2 much. he had 1 impressive play i liked in the 2nd half but he was lucky Mayfield missed an open weapon for a TD that Smith was covering in the 4th that would have won the game for them. also I think LB is simply deeper as nobody is after the top 2 pass rushers. people want Wake gone but he produces the only pass rush we have so I think we have to take 1 if we have the chance. Key reminds me of a better Jason Taylor. his off field worries me but not enough to pass. I also signed Marquis Flowers who is a cheap signing who I think can start. him and Niklas both are cheap with talent. Smith speed is tempting but he will struggle until he is better with his instincts. its his 1 weakness. also with Stephone Anthony looking like a lock for 1 spot makes the need slightly less even though still big I don't have it as big as pass rusher. I don't have it as big a need as OL either

Tyrod repeatedly shows that we need to finish sacks and Key does that. we drafted Harris but he hasn't done well yet but works for depth for now leaving me not needing to resign Hayes. I don't even want to keep Branch. id try to trade him if we can and resign Fede

the LB i do like is Kendall for Clemson who is proj R4-R5 and has been all over the field so far against Bama and Edmund of VT who is identical to Jamie Collins. LBs can be found. I dont see any DE that can start after Key except maybe Hubbard

Raekwon McMillan has stated that he wants Smith though

TH at 18 is a lot when you haven't played in forever and are a health risk. he should be making Cutler money

    no need to keep Hayes

Da'Ron Payne was great but Anferee Jennings should have won defensive MVP in that game. Minkah and Levi both played well. Minkah is the best CB I have seen enter a draft. want us to go after Richard Sherman though

After his recent injury, I don't want Sherman unless he gets released. I'm not giving an asset for him right now. no way. I honestly don't think we are bad at CB with Howard, Tank and the return of Lippett. What we need is a better pass rush to rush the QB and allow those corners to make better plays. And I get why you like Key, as he possesses the traits of a pass rushing specialist (like Bruce Irvin), so I wouldn't mind it that much, but he seems more like an 3-4 OLB as opposed to a 4-3 DE.

Heck, it doesn't even have to be a DE pass rush, can be interior pass rush, maybe a guy like DT Christian Wilkins. Him and Suh could create havoc on the interior. Not sure if Philips is in the long term plans either, so DT could be an area of need shortly. I think that Nelson will be gone before our pick, so I'm focusing on DL in the 1st.

Right now, my current list is:

    1. OG Quenton Nelson
    2. DT Christian Wilkins
    3. DE Marcus Davenport
    4. S/LB Derwin James
    5. OT Mike McGlinchey

Another possibility is a team like ARZ, WSH, MIN or BUF trading with us to jump CIN for whichever QB prospect is left at #11 (my guess is either Allen or Jackson).

    From Mike Garafalo

"Bears OC Dowell Loggains is in Miami talking to Dolphins coach Adam Gase about a role on his coaching staff, sources say. Unclear what the position would be at this point. Nothing final."

Not exactly the veteran outside mind we were thinking of. Loggains is only 38 and one Chicago reporter accused him of stalling Trubiskys growth (I still think that was more John Fox). One thing you cant say about Gase is that he isnt loyal to his guys.

yea I don't think it would cost much to get Sherman. I think you can get him for a 7th right now or when he is cut which is why I want him. we have the CB's that make it so we don't need to rush him back. him and Howard would give us our L.O.B. I agree with you when it comes to giving away an asset. I don't give up one either

    Right Now, my current list:
    1. Lamar Jackson QB
    2. Arden Key DE
    3. Taven Bryan DT
    4. Roquan Smith LB
    5. Quenton Nelson OG

I don't expect Smith or Nelson to be there at 11 but its possible therefore they are there

Man I'm gonna be real mad if Smith gets drafted 2 spots ahead of us all because of that one extra win WR had against the Broncos. It's such a Dolphins move to waste a season and get a useless win and watch the player we really want picked right in front of us just like Gurley a few years ago.

    I really wanted Gurley bad

I think their is too much talent at the top of the 2018 draft to actually pinpoint what we really want. the 2015 draft was a weak one

That's been happening the past few drafts but in the past when have gotten who we really wanted like last year with Harris. This is who they reportly wanted going into the draft.

    16: Eli Apple
    15: Todd Gurley
    14: Zach Martin
13: Dion Jordan (traded up for our guy here)
    12: Ryan Tannehill
    11: Mike Pouncey

    Miami didn't want Apple most

If Luck was there at #8 Miami would have taken him so they didn't want Tannehill most

Realistic targets, not dreams. And yes all reports say they wanted Apple badly, part of the reason we traded up for Howard being they wanted young talent at CB.

This isn't who you or us on the forum wanted, it's who the guys in Miami targeted with there pick.

The Apple miss was great but man Martin and Gurley hurt to look back at. Hopefully the Harris pick is a sign of good luck going forward.

We're in a great spot no matter what as long as there's a big run on QB like most are predicting. Even if Smith is gone guys like Nelson and Darwin should be available. I'm just already emotionally involved with Smith so it'll hurt to watch the Raiders pick him lol
