Your proposal keeps Glennon. See a Maybe on a super restructure for a ton cheaper. But im not paying glennon as a. Backup near 16-18 mil

Dont even care if we can't replace him.

I'll do one of these once we hire a coach.

Your estimate for Fuller is low though. He should fire his agent if all he can get is $5M per. Given the way he closed out the season, the weak CB market, and comparable contracts the last few years, he will probably double that AAV.

Way low on Landry as well. Davante Adams just got an extension for $14M per, Landry's getting at least that. My guess would be 5/$75M, $30-40M gtd.

Super hard pass on McGlinchey at 8 too, especially when you consider who else is going to be available.

I hate to **** all over your mock here, but this would be a very disappointing offseason. No way is that same OLB/Edge group coming back either. McPhee is gone and the rest are FA's that aren't worth bringing back (maybe Houston).

Also if Muhammed wilkersom if cut is a guy i really want us to target. He may have regressed but i would take him over what we gave opposite hicks.

If not him. Sheldon Richarson also had a solid year.

Agree on both points. Also if Fuller becomes our CB1 I will be pretty upset. I think Prince needs to be retained.

I want one of them back, not both. It all depends on the price and while I've been impressed by Kyle's recent play, I'm worried that's just driving up his price tag.

Would not be surprised if a team throws a 4/$48M type of contract at him and if that's the case, good luck to him. Prince can come on back for a couple more years and we'll just throw draft picks at the position until we get a true #1.

No offense but that mock does not "feel" like a home run off-season that most believe Pace needs to have.

How does the bears get the last pick of the 5-11 teams? I mean Bucs beat them and they're in a tougher division which means they have a tougher schedule than the bears.

We had the tougher schedule via math.

I'll give this a go. I have a pretty limited knowledge of the draft so if anyone has any suggestions or alternatives for my picks do tell

First off, some useful mock off-season tools for my fellow PSDers:
    Chicago Bears Salary Cap Calculator
    Spotrac NFL Free Agent Tracker

    Cut:
    QB Glennon
    Edge McPhee
    TE Sims
    WR Wheaton
    CB Cooper
    Edge Young
    ILB Freeman
    S Demps

    Cap Space: Approx. 87 Million

    Re-sign:
CB K. Fuller FRANCHISE TAG - 1/15.2 mil
    CB P. Amukamara 3/21/11
    WR K. Wright 3/12/6
    SLOT B. Callahan 3/9/4
    WR C. Meredith 1/6/4
    LB C. Jones 2/5/2.5
    QB M. Sanchez 1/1
    CB S. McManis 1/1
    OT T. Compton 1/1
    K C. Santos 1/750 K

    Remaining: Approx. 46 MIL

    Free Agency:
Edge Adrian Clayborn 5/55/30. A bit of a risk here, but definitely the best pass rushing talent in this class. Gives us a great compliment to Floyd that we desperately need. Allows McPhee to act as more of a specialist/rotational guy.
TE Jimmy Graham 4/48/29. The receiving market is thin, so why not target the next best thing? Should see a lot of two tight end sets with him and Shaheen. Gives Mitch a pair of legitimate red zone threats.
WR Paul Richardson 4/20/12. Gives us a legitimate vertical threat that defenses will have to respect, should fit right into this offense. He may not be the number one guy, but he can be a big piece on the outside.
Edge Junior Galette 3/14/8. A cheaper, more durable guy who would probably be better off as the rotational/depth guy than McPhee.

We're left with about 13 mil for depth signings as well as signing rookies.

    Draft:
1 DT Da'Ron Payne. Realistically, Key, Chubb, and Fitzpatrick will be off the board at #8. The Bears are pretty thin at D-line outside of Hicks. Gives us another stud on the line and will arguably be the best player left.
    2 CB Iman Marshall
    4 WR James Washington
4 OT Tyrell Crosby Hopefully a guy you can groom to replace Massie at some point.
    5 Edge Jeff Holland
    6 S Drue Tranquill
    7 OG Brandon Fanaika

    QB Trubisky/Sanchize
    RB Howard/Cohen/Cunningham
    WR Meredith/Richardson/Wright/Washington/White
    TE Graham/Shaheen/Brown
    OT Leno/Massie/Compton/Crosby
    OG Long/Sitton/Kush/Morgan/Fanaika
    C Whitehair/Grasu
    5T Hicks/Payne/Bullard/RHH
    NT Goldman
    Edge Floyd/Clayborn/Galette/Holland
    ILB Trevathan/Kwit/Jones
    CB Fuller/Prince/Marshall/Hall/McManis
    Slot Callahan
    S Jackson/Amos/Bush/Tranquill
    K Santos
    P O'Donnell

Fuller might get double that AAV on the open market. I think that projection is pretty low. Same for the other non-Bears FA's you're bringing in.

It's a good approach to the offseason though. I'd be happy with all three of those FA's.

Probably need to address OL earlier than the 4th round too.

Thatís fair, appreciate your post. I had sorta the same concern. Mightíve taken spottracís projections too much to heart when looking for a non-biased source. But yeah Iíd like an aggressive off-season too. Maybe just cut Cooper, tag Fuller for now then and add years to Clayborn & Graham (and maybe an extra 2 mil or so AAV)?
As for the draft, idk how to make that work. From what I've read, Payne is most likely to be the best player on the board for the Bears at 8 and I think cornerback is a more urgent need right now than O-line, but I'd also be happy with O-lineman in round 2 and corner in round 4.

edit: Anyway I edited it, maybe that's more realistic?

    KyBen36 First Official off-season mock

    Cap space $42,025,379

    Cap Saving Cuts

Mike Glennon $12,500,000 (post June 1st)
    Markus Weaton $5,000,000
    Marcus Cooper $5,000,000
Jurell Freeman $3,460,783 ( i dont want him gone..... but i think he is done after his substance abuse)

    Total Cap space - $67,986,162

    Resign

Prince Amukamara CB 3 year 21 mil (10 mil guarunteed) (7 mil per)- Prince was one of the bright spots for us this year and really helped make our secondary alot better than it would have been without him. I think he is a must resign just from a standpoint you have to reward 1 year prove it deals when they come through as he did. Pay the man

Kyle Fuller CB 4 year 40 mil (25 mil guarunteed) (10 mil per) - this puts him right about where Logan Ryans contract was last year, and while he may get a bit more. i think this is very close to his value, considering injuries and the fact that while he did have some hot games.... he also had some not so hot. He also missed two whole years so im not sure his market will be as hot as some thing, however. 25 years old.

Bryce Callahan CB 3 year 15 mil (7 mil guarunteed) (5 mil per) - The question is what is a Nickle CB Worth, nobody can deny Callahan was a huge diference to our D in the center of the field when on the field vs when off. But I am honestly not sure what your relitivly high end Nickle corner should get, to me, 5 mil seems about right though, retaining the main peices to the secoundary to me is a key for the offseason.

Kendall Wright WR 2 year 8 mil (4 mil guaranteed) (4 mil per)- Wright gets a Contract again bassed on his prove it deal. if you want more guys to trust you on prove it deals, you have to show they can pay off. Wright was our best and only receiver which may have inflated his value a tad. But give the man some money as only he seemed to develope chemistry with mitch.

Christian Jones ILB 2 year 5 mil (2.5 mil guarunteed) (2.5 mil per) - Especially with loosing Freeman I think Jones is a must bring back for depths sake. he isnt special but he is a solid player who has proved himself

Cameron Meredith WR 1 year 6 mil (6 mil guaranteed)- I feel bad for Cam as he deserves more. If he had stayed on the field he is likely getting 10 mil per on a long contract. but he has to prove he can come back from this injury. plain and simple.

Pat O'Donnell P 5 year 15 mil (3 mil per) (7 mil guaruteed) - i am actually not sure what the going rate on Punters/Kickers are. But Odonnell has been a sold bright spot from the previous groups draft classes.

Cario Santos K 2 year 3 mil (1.5 mil per) (1.5 guaranteed) - again I dont know the going rate. it may be less. but he seems like the most likely to take over kicking duties barring going after a FA.

    Total Spent - 39 mil

total Left for FA - $28,986,162

    Free Agents

Allen Robinson 1 year 8 mil or Sammy Watkins WR 3 year 24 mil (8 mil per ) - Allen Robinson to me is a higher risk reward as there is no telling where he is from his injury. Watkins is a Safer bet but did not have a good year at all with the Rams. Either Way we have to get a WR. I have a feeling Landry isnt going to be a real option.

Muhammed Wilkerson / Sheldon Richardson DE 3 year 12 mil (4 mil per) (6 mil guarunteed) - I know whether Bullard steps up or not i still want to add Depth and pass rush to the DL. Both of these guys have had great historys as a pass rusher, Not sure which to go after, but Wilkerson is expected to be cut while Richardson is a FA. Both are arguably better than Mitch Unrien so weather bullard can beat them out is only a postivie to provide competition.

Money Left to Fill out Roster and Pay Draft class- $16,986,162

    Draft

Trade Down from 8 to the Bills For their #21 and #22

#21- Christian Kirk WR - Its not unfamiliar that Kirk is my favorite player, i think he has explosive plays writen all over him and was under utilized while at Texas Tech. He could easily be that over the top threat and guy to take crossing routes from 5 to 50 yards quickly.
#22- Connor Williams OT- Williams is probably the most interesting prospect in this draft as he could be the best tackle on the draft board at all. But He would make for an excelent RT with his ability to move Block.. get to the 2nd level and just simply man handle some opponents with his mean streak blocking style
#39 Dorrance Armstrong OLB- I considered going pass rusher in the first. but im not sure i see anyone around that 20 mark i really find intreaguing (maybe if Key fell) Armstrong is interesting because he was one of the best pass rushers last year and has the athletism to do so. this year he was one of the best run stuffers but his pass rush was off. it may have had to do with players round him.... or his focus, but he surely has the ability to do both if put with the right coaches.
    Rest of draft BPA

    Roster

    QB- Mitch
    RB- Howard/Cohen
    WR-(Robinson/Watkins) /White
    WR2-Cameron Marideth
    WR3-Christian Kirk /Wright
    RT- Williams/Massie
    RG- Long/Morgan
    C- Whitehair /Kush
    LG- Sitton/Kush
    LT- Leno
    TE- Shaheen/Sims

    RE- (Wilkerson/Richardson)/Bullard
    ROLB- Mcphee/Armstrong
