No, Hamilton and CJ Wilson were Dipoto's deals, (Wilson was pretty good the first year and a half before injuries set in) but regardless most of his trades haven't worked out. (The Skaggs deal and the Simmons deal not with standing) then again with how many trades he makes, some of them were bound to work out.
Eppler brought in Simmons, trading Newcomb was I think his first major move as our GM.
But yeah, from what I’ve read, Dipoto was very egotistical about wanting to bring in Wilson pujols and Hamilton and he had a pretty strong PR team that leaked out that Arte was the one all about it once the deals started to go sour. Same PR team leaked out all the negative stuff about Scioscia not wanting to use his advanced stat reports(which were probably garbage) after dipoto resigned to save face.
Have any of you Angel fans ever tried the Angelswin.com message board? Many, many members there.

I'm confused CJ Wilson, Pujols, and Hamilton were all made during Dipoto's reign, but Simmons was all Eppler as was Heaney, and Tropeano and Petit and last years surprise pieces in the bullpen. Upton, Cozart, Kinsler, and even Ohtani were Eppler's. Maitan, and Soto, Marsh, Adele, and most of our top prospects were Eppler as well. He has managed to repair in two short seasons the damage that Dipoto did before walking away in the middle of a pennant run. Dipoto is a douche.
I know a few of us are over there
Simmons was Eppler's first move. Heaney and Tropeano were Dipoto trades
Heaney to the Angels, Kendrick to the Dodgers, and Dee Gordon to the Marlins
Tropeano and Carlos Perez to the Angels, Hank Conger to the Astros

So, this turned out pretty well for us.
