Such a great move for this organization!

I was so wrong on Dipoto, he nearly killed our franchise, and is now doing the same thing to the Mariners. Imagine if we had hired Eppler instead of Dipoto

As a Rangers fan I am envious as we were one of the teams in the sweepstakes. I have always been a Trout fan since the first time I saw him play in person on a biz trip to So Cal. Ohtani plus Trout makes you guys the team to watch in the AL West. Good luck..

Ya it's only a grade 1 strain though which is typical for basically any pitcher if they were to get an MRI. He's not going to need surgery, unless it gets worse.

Does anyone think that Ohtani puts up better numbers than cron this year?

Struck out 8/12. Pretty awesome even if it’s just spring.

It's definitely possible, I give it a 20% chance of happening. I think Cron will do good if he can stay healthy and get a full season of AB's. Something like .280/.330/.475 with 25 HR

I don't think Ohtani will get very many AB's though. If he put up a line similar to Cron's rookie year (with more patience) I'd be happy.

    AB 250 HR 10-15 Avg .250 OBP .325 SLG .450

    with a pitching line up

    IP 175 ERA 3.30 K/9 9.5 BB/9 3.5

That’s a successful year I’ll take that. Man it feels good to have a front end starter. We’re gonna need him come playoffs.

I think Othani for sure has a better year, Cron is streaky and I think that’s the reason why he’s never gotten consistent AB chances. Never know what you’re getting from the dude. But yeah it’s an amazing feeling having a pitcher with stuff like this. Makes you fly to the TV to watch and it’s nice feeling like you have a chance to dominate any lineup, especially with our defense set up the way it is

I actually think Othani ends up positing a sub 3.00 ERA. I think he adjusts to the league better than the league adjusts to him and he gets better as the season goes after a good but not amazing start

I’m not sure about a sub 3 in his first year but would be stoked. If I had to guess it would be more like 3.60 ish which would still be amazing. He has nasty stuff he just needs better control.

I was right there with you.
I'm not going to blame Trader Jerry for the Pujols deal, that's on Arte, and I still like the Trumbo/Skaggs trade. But there wasn't a lot of success by Jerry.
