    Off Topic Thread

We're going to try this again. I ask you guys refrain from talk about politics, religion, race, etc and try to keep this thread as civil as possible. Infractions will be handed out if it gets out of control again. If you want to talk about politics, please refer to the politics forum here.

Rush and TT were nice enough to let us have another OT thread. They would definitely appreciate it if we didn't let it get out of hand.

    Did somebody say POLITICS?

How do you guys feel Teddy Roosevelt did during his first 4 years in office? Hope that's not controversial

Serious note, my grandpa passed away last weekend and I've had to take over my Dad's work while he sorts things out in England...**** is tiring, you never realize how hard your parents work til you do their work yourself.

Positive news though is that my mom is officially cancer free...so that's something to be happy about.

Saw Three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri. Pretty good, one of my favorite movies of the year.

I hear Frances McDormand may be up for an Oscar for her performance.

Is her performance Oscar worthy in your opinion?

Sorry to hear about your grandpa, but glad to hear about your mom.

Yeah, she may win it too, but will see if other performances top hers.

Just saw your posting on the E! Thread.

You must be a Seven Psychopaths and/or In Bruges guy. Both very good films too!

In Bruges is one of my favorite movies of all time, Seven Psychopaths was very good, just not as memorable.

Closest opening to me was three hours away. Probably have to wait 2-4 weeks for it to open in a small town where guns and god are the first priorities every weekend.

Only two theaters in the whole nyc area were showing it.

Always get a funny looks from the older white people there when I sit next to them. I dress mostly urban, and am real active young looking, so if their is an older white lady next to me. I get the skeptical looks.

You'd get that look if you ever sat down next to me!

I recently saw the under the radar film, Lucky, starring the late, great 90 year old Harry Dean Stanton. Most of the people in the audience were in their 20's and 30's. I had to be the oldest person there as I looked in shock to see so many younger people. Most of them weren't alive to have seen the film that made him, Paris Texas (1984)

    Go figure.

    Haha

Yeah every time it happens when I go see these indie movies that the young folks mostly stay away from.
