So we should be hearing some type of an update on Fultz by Friday, that would be the 3 week mark. Unless I have missed something, has there been any new news on his progress (outside of rehabbing in Kentucky). What is the consensus on him playing this year, I have a fear that this will drag out until mid January and then we get a shoulder surgery announcement. The last 4 years have ruined my ability to rationally look at injuries, they are always season ending in my mind

Well there hasnt been any news. He has been in Kentucky where theres a specialist in shoulder training to work on things like this.

Scapular imbalance isnt a injury that can require surgery as far as Im aware. Its a lack of muscle strength that requires training and pain management until all the muscles and properly support the joint.

Think of the guy at the gym that does all bench presses and curls. Yea his chest and arms are big. But he walks around hunched over and arms in the trex position because the back and tri muscles arent strong enough to counter it.

In Fultzs case I wouldnt be shocked if he was working long and hard with his foul shot that it caused the muscles that you need to shoot get strong, but the other muscles in the shoulder joint didnt, and it caused pain and discomfort.

this whole thing will always be bizzare to me. players take hundreds, if not thousands of shots a day and i have never seen this happen to anyone before.

What's really funny is that I listen to a lot of national nba talk as well and there is a ton of talk about the Sixers young talent. They list Embiid, Simmons, Sarich, RoCo, but never mention that we are doing all of this with the #1 PICK out still. It's like the NBA has forgotten that this team still has a potential star in the wings. All of the communication around this injury is just bizarre.

its not really funny or surprising... the league did the same thing when simmons was out last season... they basically forgot he existed....

now hes running away with ROY and looks like a once in a generation type of player.

its even funnier listening to boston people calling fultz, a guy who hasnt really played at all, a bust.... theyre idiots though.

There's plenty of explanations as to why IMO. Lack of lifting, focusing on the wrong things in lifting, could have pre-existed and not known, not working on flexibility, etc.

Yes is bizarre and we haven't really seen it, but much more goes into working on it than just shooting, and if one of those things is slightly off it can cause big problems.
