    Alonso leads all of baseball with 216 wRC+.

    I guess it doesn't fit your narrative.

    He lost almost 2 years because of a double hernia and torn hip labrum.

    Jackie Robinson was 28 when he was a rookie with the Brooklyn Dodgers. That worked out fairly well.

    My "narrative" is that he won't be in a position to play in Flushing until next year - at age 27, a few days after the start of the season.
