Jagr had some interesting insight in his After Hours interview on Saturday.

He was saying why it's so hard to keep up with players nowadays outside of his age. He was saying pre-05 lockout era, all the clutching and grabbing and need for strength meant that he worked out his leg muscles so much. Nowadays, the workout regimes of young players is about hip strength rather than leg strength in order to get more speed.

I think he has the potential to be a very good coach. Maybe not a head coach but a valuable asset to a coaching staff. He's a very very smart man and even smarter hockey guru.

I've always wondered how and why the game got so physical. I mean sure, bursting around on ice is hella fun but when did it become the norm for players to get fighting?
