President Trump has been working on a building a wall his entire presidency, while Democrats have been obstructing and doing anything they can to prevent it. this after Democrats themselves also used to be against illegal immigration including agreeing to more funding for border security in 2013 than they rejected for Trump.

Building a wall isnít much of a policy. Trump threw out much of what had been done previously that was working, discarded 95% of the bi-partisan proposal (that was blocked by McConnell) and then got people like you to scream about how the Democrats arenít working with him on the narrow sliver that he wants while he refuses to address the other 95%.

it's an effective way at better helping prevent illegal immigration.

Democrats rejected less money than they themselves in the past had agreed to, while continually obstructing Trump in any attempt to get funding for the wall.

Trump was talking to an extremely low knowledge voters with his build a wall bull****. It ignores the complexity of the issue, it ignores where most people who are here illegally come from, it ignores basic geography, it pretty much ignores the whole problem and just tells people that if they hate Mexicans hard enough then all the problems in their lives will go away.

The US border with Mexico is almost 2000 miles long. It has cost billions upon billions to just get the couple of real miles of border wall that Trump has gotten funding for. He can't get the funding for his full wall because Mexico isn't going to pay for it and neither are the US taxpayers.

The fact is that most people who are here illegally started as perfectly legal and are people who got approval to come here and then overstayed their visa or paperwork granting them legal right to be here. So that means that most people here illegally flew over the fanciful wall or walked through the front door that is in the wall.

The fact is that a massive chunk of the US border with Mexico makes building a wall geographically impossible. Tell me exactly how you expect to build a wall along the Rio Grande river? Do you want the wall built alongside the river? In the middle of the river? Use common sense and realize that's stupid AF.

Iíll wait while you clue in that Trump dismantling a lot of what was working and demanding money for this tiny part of the issue while ignoring the rest and offering nothing in return isnít the Democrats failing to work with him. Itís Trump failing to work with anyone else

The wall was a symbol and was never gonna do anything significant to deal with immigration. But Trump doesnít care, he just wants a symbolic wall he could put his name on. And when the arm of government that is suppose to pass laws and allocate money had the opportunity to build a wall and fund it, the expressly didnít. Then Trump unconstitutionally built it anyways using money that he was not allowed to spend. Iím glad this charade will end when Biden becomes president.

With Trump illegal immigration has been greatly reduced. the "constitutionality" argument you brought up was argued before the SC and Trump won regarding the use of Defense funds to complete sections of the wall. Democrats only want the wall not to succeed because they are losing big sections of their formerly rock solid voting block of black, Cuban, and many Hispanic voters and have to replenish these with illegal aliens from South America and Mexico.

How does building a wall prevent people from overstaying their visa? The source of the vast majority of undocumented immigrants.

UM. Was it a hallucination when the hundreds of thousands of people from South America and other foreign countries went parading through Mexico less than a year and a half ago? Or were these people being bussed by operatives funded by the Dem. Party who arranged for free lawyers to get them over to this country? And tell me, Rhino, what do you think existing working class Americans at the lower strata of the US labor force think about these people undercutting their low wages let alone taking their jobs?

Do you know any working folks in the lower echelons of the labor force in this country?

This isnít true. The Supreme Court denied a stay and chose to hear the case but they havenít ruled on it and likely wonít till next year. I think both sides of the isle should hope this fails in court unless you want president Biden to take money wherever he wants to combat climate change. Congress should be making laws and distributing money, not the president.

No, it wasnít. It steadily dropped from the late 2000ís until 2017 when it hit its lowest levels since 1971. Then the effects of Trump dismantling everything that was working kicked in and illegal immigration shot way up. Best not to believe what the Trump propaganda machine sells you.
