And this right here is why we can say without a shred of a doubt that Donald Dumb **** has ran an absolute failure of a response. He signing EO to ban muslims, what has he done for social distance?

Muslims killed 3,000 people 20 years ago. Corona just killed over a 150k people this year. Yet muslims need to be banned while corona is cheered along?

These are the tell tale signs of a dumb **** president.

Oh what's that? Nothing just the president coming out in support of red lining...

I don't honestly know enough about this, and since I don't live anywhere near suburbia it also has no effect on me personally, but what is the situation with all this? I mean, if they're trying to put a bunch of low income housing into some areas, it does have a financial effect on existing homeowners....no easy answers, need the housing, and it needs to be somewhere, and that somewhere shouldn't be Timbuktoo or the end of the airport runway...

If the housing is spread out in a well planned manner it would have minimal negative impact.

The best idea imo is to spread low income housing amongst middle and upper middle housing. I believe the environment would positively impact many individuals and get them to a place where they are feeding more into our economy than out of it.

I do kind of agree with you, and this is another on a long list of reasons why we should be holding our govt responsible for their failure. How is the govt allowing this right to still be?

Denver did the right thing, $1,000 dollar fine to people not wearing it, and they made sure to spread the word through local news. Went from under 50% to over 90% compliance. A number of citizens had to bite the bullet and pay fines, that sucks, but overall that's a win basically all the way around. Numbers stay down, less funerals and deaths. Economy stays open, less financial struggles for the citizens.

My only real experience with low income housing is housing built for native americans....and I have no idea how that transpires (i.e. what ownership they're given or could have, etc) but sadly, they rarely take much pride in keeping it up. Some of that is based on what most of us view as proper maintenance while their culture has different perspectives, and some based on simply being impoverished. However, new houses become houses with plywood covered windows, unkept lawns, multiple non-functioning cars, etc within a few years....and I have no idea how you prevent that...but no idea if similar is true in urban/suburban low income housing as what I'm talking about is quite rural for the most part.

I think that somewhat holds true everywhere, I know what you're talking about.

But I think if you spread it sparse enough, it wont really be the case. I remember seeing a low income housing structure in santa monica, it looked beautiful, it was the only one that was low income housing for a few blocks, surrounded by nice residential buildings and nice healthy functioning commercial zones.

And you could just see it's like that building (and everyone in it) took on the characteristics of the environment around it. How can you still keep a broke mentality when you are raised in an environment with so much opportunity? Anyone in that building living there from age 9, 10 or younger, just think how DRASTICALLY different their life will be compared to our old outdated methodology of combining all low income together to create huge swaths of economic depression. Think how differently he (or she) will view the world, and how differently they will now apply themselves in this world.

Now I dont know if that is truly the case, that they were thriving better in that situation, I don't have any kind of numbers to back me up, but that's definitely how it felt. It felt like people were walking around there with purpose. Woulda never guessed it to be low income.

I feel confident that this is the formula we need to apply, and this is the most effective way to combat the drains a lower class has on a society.

    Letís be clear.

The mask prevents YOU from spreading the virus to ME. And no document, law, or natural fact gives YOU the right to spread the virus to me. So no YOU donít have the right to not put on the mask. YOU have ZERO right to infect other people.

So hopefully people keep harassing people for risking other peopleís lives.

I'm actually all for knocking these ****ers out on sight that are causing a ruckus in supermarkets and such. You don't want to wear a mask? Then find somewhere else to shop or go the **** home. You want to put others at risk and get on the ever thinning nerves of these essential workers that are at work so we can get groceries and such? Get laid the **** out.

I had an interesting experience yesterday in the fairly rural part of Maine where I now reside. There are no local ordinances re: wearing masks. Granted, this part of Maine (probably like South Dakota) has experienced limited effects of the pandemic.

Nonetheless, the local supermarket (Hannafordís) requires masks for employees and shoppers, and as best I could tell there was near 100% compliance amongst the shoppers and certainly among the employees.

I then went to the local hardware/building supply outlet (Hammondís). No stated requirement. Only one of the five employees I saw was wearing mask, and I was the only shopper wearing one.

My final stop. The local (very small) post office. There is a clear posted mandate not only for masks but a limit of one customer in at a time. The clerk was wearing a mask but neither of the two patrons were. I left without getting my mail.

We continue to send and receive mixed messages in our daily activities ó which to me means we are not at all serious about coming together to address the pandemic.

    Frdm.
