I'm very wary of prep bats this early at times and I think Wright is far more proven. The chances of Wright being a 1 or 2 are much higher than Lewis becoming a superstar outfield just by probability's sake. I've also read that we are very much infatuated with wright the way we were with Anderson and I like that.

I don't really disagree with your statement. In my mind though..... if I felt Wright was truly a 1, he's the pick. If I rated Lewis as a superstar and Wright as a 2, Lewis would be my pick. Imho I think this is the year the Braves should take the Super Star or Ace swing! We're not likely ( at least I hope) to be this high again. So whoever the Ace or Super star ( that they think we can develop) is, that's who I'd take.

I'm not sold on anyone but Green.

Callis and Mayo both mocked the Braves passing on Kyle Wright and taking 2B/OF Keston Hiura from UC Irvine in an under the slot deal.

I don't have a problem with this at all. However if you are taking Beckbover Lewis, how much money are we saving?

    MLB Draft 2017

Things could get wild but if the pick is Hiura over one of the top guys falling someone should lose their job.

that's one of the things I don't like about the MLB draft, the whole select one kid who will sign for less at the top of the draft so you can have more money to spend on someone later in the draft.

I mean I understand there is a draft pool and you can't go over the draft pool but, then what is the point of an actual draft, run it like you run international prospects if that is going to be the case.

Man I hope we don't pass on Wright if he's there at 5, Hiura is probably the best hitter in the draft but he doesn't have a position and may need surgery, take the guy who was considered 1-1 a week ago.

I saw some scouts think he needs Tommy John. I say just take Wright if he falls and hope Hiura falls to 41

It looks like Lewis is going #1, that's great news, we are going to have a shot at one of Gore, McKay or Wright. I'll be happy with any of them.
