There is some promise from Willy Garcia hitting well at Charlotte just called up as May was sent down.

Moncada was the all minor league Sox system player of the month in April. He should be up by July taking over at 2B.

Garcia made two super throws from RF against the Orioles. On target at over 100MPH on both. They would not run on him.

Moncada at .347/.421/.535 for a .956 OPS. Not bad.

Giolito is working on some stuff the Sox have tweaked. I've talked to two scouts who have said they like what they see with him in his progression. Lopez is the one who needs to get going.

No rush to bring up Moncada dont need him this season isnt going anywhere. Bring him up in July or August. Basically all our minor league players need not be rushed, that was the big issue in past, were in a rebuild, bring them up when we know for sure they will be ready to stay.

IMO, Moncada should be brought up the minute the Super 2 status passes. Getting him ABs in the majors is what he needs. He clearly can hit AAA pitching. Plus he shown ability to drop his K rate over the last 15 games. Was at 32.7% for his first 12, down to 21.7% over his last 15 games. Then if you look at his last 9 games, his K% is 14.7 with a 14.7 BB%. Slugging is up and he's been stealing bases.

They've really been working on defense with him and supposedly he's shown improvement in that department at 2B. But the thing to remember is his bat will provide so much value for 2B that if he just plays average defense and hits like he should, he'll be a special player.

I'm hoping to start seeing some progress from Giolito soon. I know they were working on his delivery and mechanics, but 0-5 with an ERA above 7 is very discouraging. Needs to get it going. He's a big part of this rebuild. He could make this thing go.

But on the bright side, Fulmer has looked really good and will most likely be the first one up if a SP goes down, traded or they get sick of Covey in the rotation.

Another bright note: Micker Adolfo is only 20 and is starting to show some life. Imagine if he becomes a legit player, we land Robert, and have Moncada as well. That would be a fun future!!!

Yeah Micker is finally going. I just need to see some of that raw power start to show up. But like his direction for sure.

Yep, positive sign for him.........now 2-5 with ERA down to a little over 5 from that gaudy 7+ ERA he had earlier. Probably needs to finish the year at Charlotte though.

He'll probably get some starts in Chicago late in the year, but yeah with them re-working his mechanics, he needs a season there getting them right.
