What if KD went to the Spurs?

Would he be taking as much heat individually as he did in golden state?

Would the spurs be taking as much heat as a team as the warriors did?

Of course not. The Warriors were top faves (odds) to win it even without him, the Spurs were way behind the Warriors and Cavs.

What a superstar with pride should do is make a 2nd tier team (not Cavs or GSW) a top contender. Potential wise I am surprised he wasn't interested in joining Boston. He could have earned a title there. In a way I would find it funny if the Warriors win it without KD playing, it would show how cheap his move was.
