I found this rather interesting, Jones doesn't get enough credit for how good he was.
He was really, really good. I think he also won 10 gold gloves.

He definitely posted some good numbers but Trout is a far better hitter IMO.(Not suggesting you think Jones was better) Higher average, OBP, OPS and a lower K rate.

This is nuts I wanted to recall who Jones played with. I just googled 2003 Braves lineup

    https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/ATL/2003.shtml

Jones hit 277 and was tied for the second lowest BA on the starting roster! That was his second highest posted average

The sad part as a fan is, what would Trout have been like on a good team? Imagine if he was surrounded by the lineup Jones was? His numbers would be quite a bit better if he had some protection and some guys on base to get RBI.

Check out Chipper Jones's numbers. My lord. Talk about a flat out great hitter.?

To be fair, that doesn’t mention that Trout played 360 less games. And that Trout had around a 60 point (or more) edge in average, OBP, and slugging. Also walked 200 more times

If you just add his 162 game averages to even out the games, Trout is ahead in all those categories, except obviously dWAR

But it’s not really giving you the whole picture either, until you look at how they both were compared to everyone else. Trout is all over the top of the leaderboards in tons of categories. Jones, not nearly as much

I don't think the stat comparison were designed to diminish Trout's accomplishments, but rather highlight Jones. When you are trying to make a point compare to the best and cherry pick the stats that paint the brightest picture for your pov.

The ESPN version was good when Skip and the other loudmouth were together but his show became too political with his current lineup.
You would like Skip Bayless, Mush. It explains a lot.

Anybody who lives on an site of an active Volcano like in Hawaii have idiot stamped on their heads.

And shame on the idiot who started building homes there.

And we are to surprised now with all of the reporting and pictures of people trying to flee now?

I don’t care how nice or beautiful the plot is. If it is dangerous you stay away.

I like the chaos he brings. But I like Shannon more as he cracks me up.

And what happened to for each it’s own?

You can name some people you follow or watch and I would disagree but I wouldn’t say

    That explains a lot….

Most of you on here are so judgmental and that is why I don’t take this place seriously at times and throw absolute junk out there as the ones who wait always touch the burner and call me the idiot.

    You people crack me up.

Should we say the same about people who live in and don't flee

    1. Tornado alley?
    2. Area that's actually below sea level(new Orleans for example)?
    3. The coast(especially in areas that are prone to hurricanes like Florida?

    Just to name a few.

I can see why you spend a lot of time on the couch.

On a coast that got slammed by a hurricane recently and people on that island didn't evacuate their homes(where the bridge gave out)

I don't recall him saying anything about them.

    Weird.

Entirely two different things. Volcanoes are just a little more terrifying than the weather as most weather is predictable.

Hurricanes can be determined when the time they hit. Tornadoes can be predicted with probability but they know the cold front or line of Thunderstorms that can produce those tornadoes. A volcano can just erupt at a moments time. The same with earthquakes. But with an ACTIVE VOLCANO, keyword, ACTIVE, you absolutely know it can erupt at any time. I’m not worried about a hurricane in Dec. But people have to be aware 24/7 with an active volcano like in Hawaii…
