Sorry folks, Beltran is delusional if he thinks Astros are a World Series contender

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, and probably catch a lot of heat for this, but it's what I do. Beltran coming back to the Astros is a little too late now. If he would have signed back at the end of '04, then it would have made a difference. Now I do not know all of the details, but if he says this team is a World Series contender, he's a little crazy. They're not there yet. Now don't get me wrong, I am a LONGTIME Astros fan, and I have seen them at their best, and more than anything, at their worst. They're not a World Series contender yet. Not quite. I really cannot make a certain judgment as to what they lack to be one, but for sure they need another superstar starting pitcher, from what I've heard they need a closer (not sure if that's true or not), and they probably need another bat JUST for good measure. I mean why not.

Astros will have another great season, but will they make another run? Or even a WS run? Stay tuned....... only time will tell.

This team should win 90+ wins this season and has one of the best lineups in baseball. Granted a 2-game sample size isn't much to build conclusions from, but Keuchel, McCullers and Giles looked fantastic. If the lineup is even just 80-85 percent as good as it seems, and those three guys can stay healthy and dominate, this team is absolutely a World Series contender.

In case you've been on the moon for the last couple of years the astericks cheated to win the world series. Cora & Beltran were listed as the main contributors to the cheating. I was saying that they knew they were going to benefit from cheating, that's what the hell I'm talking about.

I'm aware but no one can prove a correlation between how the Astros cheated and if it directly led to the Astros winning the WS. You can't even quantify in what ABs it helped them. Their system was so good at home this year that they lost every home game in the World Series.

Every former big league player has said that if he knew what pitch was coming he'd be putting them in the seats. It is clearly a huge advantage knowing what pitch is coming. The only thing a pitcher has to his advantage is that the batters don't know what's coming. Maybe you guys should try watching baseball sometime. I know it hurts asterisk fans that their world series trophy smells like poo, but that just happens to be the reality of it. There are players that weren't even affected by this that are really pissed off. When the whole world is angry except asterisks fans, it means that the asterisk fans are blind to the reality of this situation. The asterisks have no idea how bad it is, but they will. Every road trip is going to be a nightmare. This problem for the asterisks is just getting started. It is going to be a very difficulty year for those players this year. This is worse than steroids and it's worse than any gambling anyone has done, last time a whole team did something this stupid was in the black and white era. Houston, you have a problem that goes deeper than just trying to get that stank off of your trophy.
