Luke is a smart guy who can make a living outside of football. Seems like the type of guy who could walk away. I got the feeling when I saw him crying when it happened.
True I suppose. Same thing is going on with Shields and we all expect him to retire. It's sad this is part of football and we keep losing guys.

Luke only has two according to himself. Tbh this recent one is the only "wtf" one he has since he didn't take that hard of a hit. The first concussion from last year was bad because he tripped and hit head to head at a really bad angle. I guess it's possible he's more likely to get them now or something but only two for the guy who's lead the league in tackles since he's been in is probably a pretty small percentage.

I think the Panthers are just holding him out because the season is over. Rivera has held big time players out before at his discretion. He wouldn't let Cam play the 2014 opener because of cracked ribs that he acknowledged he could play with.

In the off-season he said he wouldn't retire early. I think it'd take serious medical consequences to make him leave the game.

Shields has made 33 mil in 7 year, Kuechly has made 37 million in 5 years.

Some guys like Favre have to be forced out of the game or they will never stop. Some guys can walk away like Borland and Willis and never regret it.

I've heard Kuechly in the press box, he's better than most of the color guys doing NFL games today. He's also one of if not the most intelligent, football intelligence, Linebackers in the game today. He could easily coach.

I think he retires at the end of this year or most likely next year.

Last year was completely different for sure. Also yes there is definitely the possibility for anyone to become prone and more susceptible to concussions. This should not have taken him a month to clear concussion protocols.

Hope I'm wrong but really worried for the guy.

I just looked it up and he's cleared the protocol, coaches kept him out this game because we have a 0.00004% chance at playoffs. He does clearly seem to recover slowly from them based on these two though.

I'd bet my life he's nowhere close to retiring though. If you've ever heard him talk about football and the risks of football he sounds prepared to give himself brain damage before he walks away from football. I don't want to see it come to that, but nothing shy of him being unable to play will make him leave.

That play looks like cover 4, in which case Ginn should've been Norman's responsibility. #NormanHotTakes

The defender clearly had helmet to helmet contact during a slide, how is that not a call?
