Freeman is such a monster. 6.0 WAR player. WOW. After the ****** start, injuries, and atrocious team..still posted a ridiculous line. You'll be right on line with those MVP's with that.

Inciarte is here to stay...that defense is elite. He'll need that average to be high in order to be a 4 WAR player but I'll roll with him. Fun player too.

Perhaps I underestimated Matt Kemp a little. In 56 games with us he posted a very nice line of .280/.336/.519 .354 wOBA and a .238 ISO.

To put that into perspective that is on par or better than what Justin Upton and Evan Gattis gave us when they were with us. This dude is offense. And offense is straight value. His defense will remain atrocious but it's nothing worse than if we had Evan Gattis in LF. He's expensive as ****...but who cares. As bad as the Oliveria trade was...this swap single handily made up for it. While Kemp won't be part of our future, he'll at least net us a couple of valuable assets....or help us compete for a wildcard spot.

It's really a win/win. That is, of course, assuming he comes in in-shape and doesn't forget how to hit ala Dan Uggla and B.J Upton.

We're in a good spot. A couple of starters and we're looking at a WC spot.

So based off of what Coppy has been saying I expect the team to look something like this:

    C: Flowers/FA
    1B: Freeman
2B: Peterson (until Albies is ready)
    SS: Swanson
    3B: Garcia/Ruiz
    LF: Kemp
    CF: Inciarte
    RF: Markakis

    Bench: Mallex Smith

    SP: Teheran
    SP: Folty
    SP: FA
    SP: FA
SP: rookie/FA (Wisler, Blair, Gant, Whalen)

    CL: Jim Johnson
    RP: Mauricio Cabrera
    RP: Arodys Vizcaino
    RP: Shae Simmons
    RP: Chris Withrow
    LP: Ian Krol
    LP: A.J. Minter

These are the guys I think will be guaranteed spots as long they don't get hurt or fall flat on their face. I probably shouldn't include Minter but outside of Krol we don't really have a good lefty reliever and Minter is a beast so I think he makes the team out of camp. If Vizcaino gets back on track that's an exciting bullpen.

We probably have Paco Rodriguez as a LH reliever next season.

Not saying Black wouldn't make fine #Braves manager. But I've witnessed only 3 w/ universal respect in clubhouse: Cox, Leyland, Snitker.

    BaseballAmerica ranked #Braves Swanson & Albies Nos. 1 & 3 prospects in AA Southern Lgue; Allard/Fried/Soroka/Weigl 5-7 & 10 in low-A SALLY

We could be getting 3 new starting pitchers and a catcher. Who will they be??? Try your best.

    Ian Kennedy
    Chris Archer
    Jake Peavy
    Brian McCann

Royals are expected to move on from Edison Volquez. He had a down season last year but I wouldn't mind him.

^ They also want to shed salary from the roster so as chuck pointed out we might be able to get Ian Kennedy on the cheap by taking on his deal. He had a soild season.

Roger McDowell was just let go, this probably means Black is the man. I could see Perez going to manage Gwinett and Snicker staying as a coach. I wonder if Camp Leo could come back?

I'm surprised we moved on from McDowell but I'm guessing we moved on since we didn't see the improvements we expected from guys like Wisler and Blair throughout the season.

Braves just want a different voice for the young staff, seems he was a very tough love type of coach and it didn't work with some guys.

From what DOB said on twitter this move has nothing to do with the manager.

So I'm reading Bud Black is praised for his work with pitchers. Why not make Snit the manager and bring in Black as the pitching coach?

Would Black go for that? Most former managers would rather stay managers.

Man, I would love to sign Justin Turner, even though that second round pick is valuable, that guy is really good and we already have a good farm, I just wish to compete next season, is been a struggle to watch the Braves these past two years.
