PLEASE READ: Political forum zero tolerance policy & reliable sources info (UPDATED)

    Political forum zero tolerance policy

This is a politics forum and we understand there will be quite a bit of disagreement. Thatís fine. That is what this forum is for, to discuss your opinions with each other. However, there has been a significant uptick in insults, baiting, and disruptive behavior going on the last few months and with the election drawing closer, things may get more heated. This is why we are issuing a zero tolerance policy in this forum. This message serves as your warning.

There is absolutely no need for name calling, insults, baiting, etc. We are adults here and you can get your points across without them. If we see people doing this, you will be infracted.

Religious discussion should only be discussed in the religious forum. Please do not bring it up in here. This is not the place.

Threads will be posted that are negative to Republicans. Threads will be posted that are negative towards Democrats. A negative thread towards "your team" is not an excuse for you to derail that thread.

If you do not like the threads then do not read the threads. If you come in to these threads and post, "bait thread", "yawn", or any other nonsense, you are risking a off topic/disruptive infraction for derailing a thread.

We also will not hesitate to forum ban people, meaning you will no longer be allowed to post in the politics forum, if they constantly choose to ignore the rules in place.

RELIABLE SOURCE INFO (taken from Aust's stickied thread)

With the Presidential election heating up, there are more and more rumors, memes, information lacking context, half-truths and downright misinformation being spread all over different avenues of social media (Facebook in particular) for each side of the political landscape. Even when the race to the White House ends, the speculating/manipulative garbage online will not.

In an attempt to increase the accuracy of the content in this forum a reminder is being issued.

When making a thread be sure to post the source(link) from the information you are showing. Use fact-checking websites to make sure what you are posting is accurate. Reputable sources are a requirement. Do NOT use biased sites toward your political ideology as a source. Your post will be edited/deleted. This extends to comments as well.

Posters have expressed concern regarding the non-reputable sources list because we haven't given a list of what is acceptable and what is not. We are going to use the following image as a guideline of what should or shouldn't be used when sourcing material. Sources to the left of The Huffington Post and to the right of Fox News are considered non-reputable and too biased. Newspapers are considered reputable. Posting sources outside of what has been said above will be at the posters own risk. At that time we will consider whether it is reputable or not. We know this is not perfect, but hope it will give you guys a better understanding of what we are looking for.

We realize we have been lax on this recently, but we wanted everyone to be aware that we will be enforcing this more from now on.

Please use a reputable source. Do not use websites that significantly skew to the left or right. Above is a guideline one can use to see what we're looking for.
