Well I did mention some of it in the original post you quoted but I can add more. She falls too far on her views on it and will create polarize environment. I'm generally not in favour of most of these people.

She's well intentioned but not practical in her approach. It's nice to have a vision but doesn't mean anywhere near as much if you were the one making decisions or had to worry about anything else and villainize everyone else.

I'm not in favour of her rallying kids since it will complicate and polarize politics in the future. The voice she has will bring more undoing to the progress we need to make since we'll have to get our hands dirty before we can actually clean but she doesn't have those same views at all (ie she's been against nuclear power for a long time despite it being a leading asset we have to be a cleaner planet, though I recall seeing an article saying she changed course a few months ago).

You don't have to agree with my conclusion, which is fine, but you never tried to engage in why I made that conclusion independently for each of Tate or Greta. You made assumptions (intentional or not) that were clearly lacking context despite me clarifying it on multiple occasions.

I’m not surprised you’d hate her; she seems to be arguing against your viewpoints on the subject.

The reason kids are “being rallied” is they hate the inaction on climate change from older generations, who are making the world they will grow up in far worse simply because they’re too greedy, stubborn, and stupid to change their behavior.

She’s been a net positive and has actually got the world to show more action on climate change, which immediately makes her among the more valuable humans on the planet.

Nothing against Pele — he was an outstanding talent — but he was first and foremost an entertainer (as are all professional athletes), and no doubt a case can be made that entertainment has some “meaningful value to society”. Personally, I couldn’t care less about Pele or the Brazilian soccer team, but I’d never demean their so-called social value simply because of that.

Thunberg’s value is of a different ilk, which you may or may not appreciate, but to say her value to society is not on the whole meaningful (or to put it another way, is meaningless) reflects a rather narrow — and I would add, twisted — perspective.

Her efforts inspired change in companies to become more environmentally friendly.

She donated her Nobel prize money to create a non-profit to address climate change.

    Thinking she’s useless is absurd.

Well I don't hate her but I do have issues on her viewpoints to accomplish climate change. But my bigger problem is her portrayal and conduct of herself to accomplish her viewpoints.

I think she will be someone who pushes leaders too far in making false promises so they'll make even more empty promises that will be half *** and will only incentivize society to vote for people who won't make climate change policies at all and unravel progress made.

I think you don’t like her because she wants to address Climate Change now, and your more of a “we’ll get to it later” mentality.

I did say every person has their benefits and faults. I didn't say she didn't accomplish good in her life ('just as useless' is a figure of speech). I just think society is better off without her but if she fixed the stuff she needs to work on while having the same positive impacts then my opinion of her could change.

I mean anyone here can point out how Kanye donated millions to causes helping people in need and inspired people to pursue their musical dreams but think society is better off without him.

The difference is Kanye is saying anti-Semitic and racist stuff while Thunberg is… advocating for Climate Change “too hard” in your opinion. The people you immediately associate her with is telling.

a social movement centering on climate change has no value? In this time of major rivers drying up on every continent? And Gerta shouldn't encourage her generation to fight against our government not doing anything about it? Who is doing something of value about climate change that we can compare the efforts of Gerta with?

I mean we can disagree on viewpoints but this isnt the first time you've mislabelled me this week or in general. You don't have to be a dick because we have completely different viewpoints on something.

It's not like I sat here and said that if Greta wants to accomplish something by 2050 Paris Climate Agreement) that I think we should push it back to 2060. I'm proposing an alternative where we can still accomplish by 2050 despite doing it a different way.

Earlier Raps praised Musk for his efforts for Climate Change and now is vilifying Thunberg. He sounds partisan as heck frankly.

Someone just doesn't like left-wing boat rockers. Constantly bringing up right-wing talking points. Associating "Karens" as anti-white and now downplaying a kid leading a movement. Maybe we can get Greene to chase Gerta down a street screaming at her like she did that kid pushing anti-gun laws. Who wouldn't want a kid that accomplishes at her young age what she has done? This isn't any lemonade stand-type achievement. I don't know about you, but I was only delivering papers at her age when she started.

I praised Musk before he became conservative.

You’re comparing Thunberg to a child sex ring leader and an unapologetic racist. We do have completely different viewpoints: I think we should address Climate change now. You do not.
