Our whole system is so broken.
It sounds like you’re talking about how much our government spending which was about $6T in 2020.

Jeff Bezos alone as $200B in net worth. So that alone covers about 3%.

"Between March 18 and August 5, 2020, the total wealth of U.S. billionaires went up $685 billion (including those that have lost funds), based on an analysis of Forbes data. U.S. billionaires have total combined wealth of over $3.65 trillion."
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

I like this plan! Now we have a nearly $2T surplus! Let's get everyone houses who doesn't have one and food for everyone!

It also means that the talk of billionaires being able to pay for the things we need isn't true too. We need to simplify the tax system and make it near impossible to dodge paying your share, but we also need to find ways to spend less money ... a LOT less money.

The good news is that nobody is talking about only taxing the wealthy. Sounds like you support a strengthened AMT.

Who cares? They should still be paying more. Chances are the people you’re talking about paid a lower % of their income than you did.

No doubt. I've been saying for years that we politicians can campaign on no-new-taxes just fine, just make the people pay the tax rate already in place and we'll have more than enough.

Did anyone happen to hear or catch Tucker Carlson praising Hungary’s leader? Pretty wild how open he is being about his praise for totalitarians at this point.

Honestly I don’t know how anyone can be surprised. Tucker is a fan of authoritarianism and has been for some time. He wants people to rule with his viewpoint and doesn’t care who has to die.

    How about a consumption tax?

How about an even higher income rate on the top earners? Let's go with the JFK rates that made the country successful!

Do not tax earnings, tax usage and consumption.

    National sates tax.

Tax on everything and everybody. No exemptions under any circumstances,

Additional sales tax on silly and unnecessary items………yachts, planes, jewelry, oversized homes etc.…this wold have zero effect on average people (this should solve the bloodlust to tax the rich).

Consumption and sales taxes are regressive. But if we’re going to do it, the only way it could work is additional taxes on higher end items.

JFK lowered rates on the highest wage earners.
I would have no problem with "luxury" taxes, but they have to be clearly defined.
