The Stars sign D Dam Hamhuis to a two year, $7.5 million deal. He is on the wrong side of 30, but still puts in great work in his own end. Good signing on their part.

The Dallas Stars signed defenceman Dan Hamhuis to a two-year, $7.5 million deal.

The 33-year-old, who’s played with the Vancouver Canucks since 2010, scored three goals and added 10 assists over 58 games in an injury shortened (broken jaw) 2015-16 campaign.

This was the final season of the six-year, $27 million contract he signed with the Canucks prior to the 2010-11 season.

Hamhuis has scored 55 goals and posted 248 assists in 872 career games since being drafted 12th overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators.

He won a gold medal with Team Canada at Sochi 2014.
