regarding that...are they actually planning on Chisena as a backup safety? I mean the only other true safety on the roster is Metellus, currently slipped onto the practice squad....I really don't think I've seen this before

but then I haven't seen a 'small tweak' keep somebody out of camp and games for 2 months either

Read Nate Meadors was activated to the 53 and will be the back up safety.

Vikings placed RG Pat Elflein on injured reserve.

Elflein started as the Vikings’ right guard in Week 1 against the Packers. Minnesota's 2019 fourth-round pick, Dru Samia, and second-round rookie Ezra Cleveland are candidates to replace Elflein in the interim. Cleveland remains the team's long-term view at tackle.

Anthony Barr out the remainder of the season with torn pec.


..... I really do like Barr and have been a big fan of him since college, however, I think resigning him was once of the worst moves we could have done this offseason. The Jets deal woulda net us a 3rd round compensatory pick next year and the Cap we could have saved would have been better used elsewhere.

Yeah I think it was a mistake too but we can get out of his contract after this year with a 7.8 million cap hit. We'll save 7.7 million in 2021, 11.2 in 2022, and 15.5 in 2023. Big chance for maybe Troy Dye to show out. I assume he'll be the one to replace him.

I hope so, I think he actually got hurt yesterday in limited snaps.

Soooo many injuries everywhere for a lot of the teams and it's only week 2. Our O-line could be playing 2nd string D-lines and still get bulldozed though.

I think we are seeing why it's important to have an off season and pre-season to an extent with all these injuries. Have to think this is the reason for some but not all of the injuries.

You have to wonder if some of these top college prospects might want to reconsider playing.
