At the very least we should keep him on the tag for another year. Our corners are likely to be an issue again next season so having a strong presence in the middle of the field should help our secondary not blow next year.

We certainly don't need another Rhodes situation....where a big contract seemed to coincide with a dropoff in play
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

I don't know about you guys but can we trade for Trent Williams already. No sports is killing me. Sure hoping we can solidify our offensive line with an addition like this or through the draft which is way to far away!

the problem is the how....if we traded a 1st+ the cap gets even tighter and may mean trading Harris, leaving Hit Man as the only remaining starting DB from last year....another possibility being Harris part of the trade, opening space but leaving the same scenario in the backfield........the ideal situation likely being convincing them that Reiff is worth more than he probably is and trading him and a pick for Williams

Highly unlikely it happens anytime soon. The problem is the Vikings will want their team doctors to check out Williams. That can’t happen with these virus restrictions.

We can acquire Williams without having to trade Harris. Cutting Reiff gives us enough money. Currently we have about 8ish million to spend and that includes what it will cost to sign our current draft picks. Cutting Reiff pushes us closer to 17 million. Williams current cap hit is 14.5 million. A trade will surely include a contract extension but I would imagine his cap hit in 2020 would still be manageable. Plus, we can also give Harris an extension that would include a lower cap hit in 2020. That would free up even more money. The biggest hurdles to acquiring Williams will be our doctors being able to administer a physical and what Washington will want back in a trade. I doubt they would want Reiff in a trade when we’ll likely cut him. They could just sign him as a FA at a much cheaper rate.

Although its rumored the Vikings are interested in Williams I highly doubt he ends up in purple. There are team with far more cap space who are looser with draft picks. I find it hard to believe we offer a nicer deal than a team like Cleveland among others.

I see it being more likely we trade for a mid level OG at this point. I think they overplayed their hands with Harris and thought they could turn him into a big cap savings/draft capital for this year.

We'll see but I think the Vikes are gonna be dependent on this draft.

This season is when John Randle 2.0 will emerge. Hercules posted on Instagram that he now weighs 289.

I hope he didn't lose any quickness which was one of his best skills in college.

He might've, but we don't know how much of one they were expecting....i.e. he wanted 10 per, they offered 7

His agent reps a lot of the other top Safety's in the league and gets high $$ amount for them. So no discount unless he absolutely demanded it was going to be had.

I imagine a contract will be difficult. Surely he’ll want more money than Harry is making but if he gets that then we’ll have another problem when Harry is due for a new contract. 2 years from now we might be paying 2 safeties 14-15+ million. I can’t imagine the FO going for that.
