1.) We have one of the best o-lines in the league

3.) Irv Smith ascends into a Pro-Bowl caliber tight end

He is a high maintenance QB, the system has to be perfect around him for this to happen. Problem is it will be also very expensive and difficult to pay those sought after Guards/Tackles. I think it would be much easier to find a more dynamic QB in the draft but deep ball accuracy is a must in a Kubiac system, that's why Kirk makes a lot of sense.
As for #2 on the list, Stefon Diggs lead the league in receiving yards on passes of 20+ yards. He was second in the NFL in catches of 40+ yards, which includes sitting out week 17 and only having 101 yards in the first 3 games. So the Vikings already have a deep threat, one of the best in the league.

But these issues further illustrate why Cousins isnít the guy. He looks good when heís playing inside the structure of the offense. Heís talented and smart and can follow the game plan perfectly. His issue is when a play breaks down or the game plan isnít working. He becomes scatter brained and starts holding the ball too long. Sacks and turnovers start to pile up. He feels the pass rush and chooses to dump it off too fast. Ever notice how after every bad loss we have the next few days we see all 22 film of Cousins missing multiple chances? Heís fools gold. Heís one of the better QBs weíve had over the years but heís not good enough to win a SB. You could surround Case Keenum with a perfect situation and he could give you a shot at a SB. A lot of QBs with an elite OL and elite weapons could be successful. IMO, if you have to say ďCousins needs this or Cousins needs thatĒ then he isnít the guy. This team has enough on offense to win a SB. It would be foolish to extend Cousins when itís obvious he isnít the guy. Starting over is risk but itís better than trying the same thing over again hoping for a better result. Thatís called insanity.

There are a lot of QBís that could lead us to a superbowl with the best o-line in the league, a great running game, 3 great receivers and a probowl tight end lmfaooo. And we can pay that guy a lot less than 30+ million dollars a year. Hell tennessee almost did it with tannehill this year, minus the probowl tight end and less offensive weapons.

Kirk needs a perfect situation around him to take us to a superbowl, unfortunately we donít have that. I think we should draft a QB this year and let Kirk play out the final year of his deal.

I'm not real sure how or why we want to keep Griffen. I understand the value but I feel like he would really need to give us a discount which he very well could. I've been saying it all along, let Harris and Griffen walk and focus on upgrading the OG spot first.

You can put a feeler on Kearse to see about coming back and he would be very affordable. There is a good shot you can have your choice of a pretty good Safety at 25 as well.

You think there is a chance Harris could get the franchise tag?

I doubt it. I don't see how we can afford both Griffen and Harris. The Vikings haven't used the tag since 2011 on Greenway.
