That it was. I will give it that.

    Possession (1981) 8/10:

This movie is about a bitter divorce between a couple on the surface, but what comes after that 5 minutes beginning of the movie is pure chaos and descent into horror madness. The way it is filmed, acted, and edited helps the feel film uncomfortable and unstable. That lends itself to some strange and admittedly tedious moments but I think as a whole it delivers on what it is going for, that being seeing and feeling the down spiral of two people. The horror element I felt initially was out of place but seeing as how it ended it made a little more sense to me and some of the underlying themes (duality, relationships, toxicity, fake, shallow/hollow and even political).

I liked more than I expected. I was surprised how ambitious it was compared to my expectations of it being another Sharknado or Thankskilling.

    The Lodge: 8.5/10

Atmospheric and isolated horror is my favorite type of horror movie and this delivers.

    Contagion- 8.5/10

Never saw it before, but liked it. Crazy how much of it is relevant to what is going on now. Even the CDC saying stay home if your sick, practice social distancing, don't shake hands, etc.

    Fantasy Island- 6/10

Interesting twist on the tv show.

    Sleepaway Camp- 3/10

This was a pretty bad horror movie from 1983. It was fun bad though and I will watch the other ones and know they will be terrible as well.

I was nice and gave it a 5/10.

    A most unusual film.

Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics - 8/10

Hit a home run for me. Big time!

I did 'shrooms with some college buddies at an all-day packed concert at Mile High Stadium - Bob Seger, Peter Frampton, Fleetwood Mac and the Steve Miller Band. At a packed stadium. I was glued to my seat thinking I 'melted' into the music. Everything was wavy with distorted depth of field. On top of that we were smoking J's.

Said the same thing you hear in this movie, "I don't feel anything, this is BS". Then wowee!

I was the driver too. Try driving on that stuff......

Very creative, sci-fi horror. Never seen anything like it.

    Tenebrae: 8/10

I'm a fan of Dario Argento's horror movies and this fits in there with his greats (Suspiria, Inferno, Deep Red etc). One of the earlier examples of meta movies too, to my knowledge.

Brawl in Cell Block 99: 7/10

Good story, good action, pretty gruesome at times, Vince Vaughn is really good in this too... about what I expected from the guy that made Bone Tomahawk.

Yup. Bone Tomahawk way better though.

Let The Right One In: 8.5/10

A different take on the vampire film genre which was both cute and a horror movie at the same time. A few nitpicks here and there with some character choices towards the end that felt a bit odd but overall I thought it was wonderful.

I really liked this years ago when I saw it. Unique take on the horror/vampire genre.

The US remake, Let Me In, isn't bad either.
