At the end of the day, he had some of the best takedowns we have seen and he could go for hours, at the beginning, but the Cain's and JDS's of the world would have gotten around that I believe.

He would have been a guy that would win 2 or 3, lose 1, maybe get another streak together but he would always hover outside the top 5. I do agree if he was able to start much earlier he could have developed his standup and made it somewhat acceptable and been a guy who could have really dominated the sport. Although I would have loved to see him be able to stay around longer, I am not sure his career would have been much different at this point, healthy or not.
I agree Brock's takedowns were way ahead of his standup. The difference is before his injury Brock had power so if he did hit a guy while standing that guy felt it and sometimes went down. After that illness he had so little left via standup or takedowns. The take down he landed on Carwin was only after Carwin had totally gassed out. Actually both guys were gassed out. Before that take down both Carwin and Brock looked like fighters after 15 rounds. I'm not sure what would have been if he never got sick but I do know he was never the same after the illness.
I'm always happy to discuss anything from hoops, to hockey, to reality TV with anyone that is polite regardless of their opinion. With that said if you are disrespectful, dishonest, or an extremist type poster I may not waste my time replying to you.

Did anyone catch the presser after UFC 188? Did Dana say if JDS gets the next shot?

Visa issues force changes at UFC Fight Night 70, UFC 190

The United States visa system has faced technical issues recently, and that affected the UFC’s next card in the country.

The UFC Fight Night 70 card, scheduled for June 27, was moved from Sao Paulo to Hollywood, but several Brazilian fighters won’t be able to make it to Florida due to visa issues, including the four TUF Brazil 4 finalists.

The reality show finals will be moved to UFC 190, set for Aug. 1 in Rio de Janeiro. In the bantamweight division, Dileno Lopes faces the winner of Reginaldo Vieira vs. Bruno Rodrigues, while Glaico Franca meets the winner of Nazareno Malegarie vs. Fernando Bruno for the lightweight crown.

Sources close to the situation confirmed the change to MMAFighting.com following a report by Combate.

According to the report, Erick Silva vs. Rick Story was pulled from the UFC Fight Night 70, and Antonio Carlos Jr. now co-headlines the event against Eddie Gordon. Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Nikita Krylov could also be cancelled due to visa issues.

The UFC has reportedly added a pair of bouts to the Hollywood card. Coming off a big win over K.J. Noons, Alex Oliveira takes on 6-0 newcomer Joe Merritt. In the lightweight division, Leandro Silva meets Lewis Gonzalez.

Check the complete UFC Fight Night 70 and UFC 190 fight cards below.

UFC Fight Night 70 in Hollywood, Fla., on June 27:

    Lyoto Machida vs. Yoel Romero
Antonio Carlos Jr. vs. Eddie Gordon
    Lorenz Larkin vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio
    Alex Oliveira vs. Joe Merritt
    Leandro Silva vs. Lewis Gonzalez
    Thiago Santos vs. Steve Bosse
    Rani Yahya vs. Masanori Kanehara
    Hacran Dias vs. Levan Makashvili
    Viscardi Andrade vs. Andreas Stahl

UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 1:

    Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Mauricio Rua
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Stefan Struve
    TUF Brazil 4 lightweight final
    TUF Brazil 4 bantamweight final
    Antonio Silva vs. Soa Palelei
    Rafael Cavalcante vs. Patrick Cummins
    Vitor Miranda vs. Clint Hester
    Demian Maia vs. Neil Magny
    Hugo Viana vs. Guido Cannetti
    Claudia Gadelha vs. Jessica Aguilar
    Iuri Alcantara vs. Leandro Issa
That's a tough break for the UFC, that UFC FN 70 card is one Machida injury away from potentially getting canceled.

It should be Andrei and then Stipe, I dont want to see a Cain rematch. It would make sense to have either one of those guys fight for the title and the other fight Cain.

Hathaway is out of his fight vs Gunnar Nelson at UFC 189, but the bigger news is that Aldo injured his ribs and his fight vs McGregor is in jeopardy.
