Whats everyone's take on Duke Johnson? I've watched most of his college career. Hes a super explosive one cut back, but has some injury concerns. He could be a good option in the later rounds. He'll probably run a solid low 4.4, high 4.3 at the combine.

He looks like a good RB but we would need to move some pieces before we take another.

Duke Johnson is a great runner and could start for some NFL teams right now. However he is horrible in pass protection and needs to develop more as a reciever. Johnson is a 2 down slasher who could possibly go late 2nd round if his ankle checks out at the combine

As for us. I doubt Johnson is on our draft board. Dirks offense is vital on a runner who can pass protect. He also prefers larger more downhill runners.

@PNR I was actually thinking about Tomlinson but went with Dismukes because he is a better run blocker and he and Winston could develop together.

As for the trades... Really Tampa only initiated the trade with the steelers. The titans need competition for mettenburger so I can see them targeting Glennon. Also Greg Olsen was hired in Jacksonville and they need a runner to pair with denard Robinson. Toby gerhart played horrible and will likely be a cap casualty

Did you read that site i put up about the Patriots trades that make them the Patriots basically. I hate Belichek more than anything but hes a genius. He is constantly trading with bad teams because his picks will turn into top 10 picks in their respected rounds.

    Overall pretty good

I personally would do something different at LE, but I wouldnt mind this scenario in real life.

I don't mind Johnson as much as some. He wasn't healthy much last year. I would give him 1 more year and go from there. His dead money won't be as bad if he can't get in form this year.

I'm not a real fan of the UCLA kid he drafted in 2nd round.

If we can get a starting LE in free agency to go with the 3 we got then I think we'd be good this year and could possibly draft a guy early next year

^^ I love this other than exactly what Bwall said. Not exactly awed by OO(maybe I dont know enough about him but ill look into it), I think maybe I would draft Cann/Jackson/ Tomlinson in round 2 and then address the DE in FA or in round 3 with Flowers/Orchard/ Or Smith. I love the FAs you went after though. That would really solve a lot of problems immediately. But then the draft would help fill those holes in the long run. Real nice mock BH.

^^^ I saw earlier that Kiper said Byron probably played his way into the 2nd round due to athleticism and versatility at S and CB, not to mention hes a big strong CB. At his pro day if he runs a 40 that is 4.5 or better he will probably be a late 1st rounder. If he is there at 3 I say take him tho, I think hes an absolute stud.

    Cuts:
    Anthony Collins OT
    Michael Koenen P
    Dashon Goldson S

    FA Signings:
    Charles Tillman CB
    Rashean Mathis CB
Lance Briggs MLB (aging WLB moved to MLB to help transition)
    DaNorris Searcy FS
    Brian Orakpo DE
    Joseph Barksdale RT
    Mark Sanchez QB

    Trades:
Mike Glennon to Arizona for 3rd rounder

    Draft:

    1.1. Jameis Winston, QB, FSU
    2.34. TRADE to Eagles along with 5th rd(160) and receive picks 52, 84, 116
2.52. Tre Jackson, OG, FSU- We have been targeting him all along, the continuity with JW will also help both.
3.65. Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke- sure handed shifty slot WR we really need (or Lockett)
3.84. Tre Flowers, DE, Arkansas- good competition/ rotation at DE.
3.86. Josh Shaw, CB, USC- cant have enough CBs in the NFL
4.106. Donovan Smith, OT, PSU- Hopefully we can groom him to become a starter, swing T
4.116. Durrell Eskridge, FS, Cuse- You know Lovie is going to draft a S.
5.154. Lynden Trail, DE, Norfolk- Rotational guy and also played Red Zone TE (used to be a WR, oh and hes 67)
6.168. Jake Ryan, MLB, Mich- Back up MLB/SLB and special teams Stud
7.193. Max Garcia, C, Florida- Played LT, C, and LG during his college career, ultimate utility man/depth guy

(I could see us using one of those 3rd rounders and bump back up into the 2nd and getting another player who slips like Perryman or Dawson)
