Cities that the NBA should expand to if the NBA ever expands again

Well my top 5 cities that I would go with that NBA definitely should expand to if they do ever decide to expand are:

1- St. Louis- St. Louis if anything they have the revenue to support an NBA team and not to mention they have an MLB team, an NFL team and an NHL team so why not have an NBA team to round out the sports teams they have? Not to mention people in St. Louis love their basketball and I don't think they have had an NBA team in like decades so why not bring basketball back to St. Louis?

2- Seattle- Supersonics, Sonics, whatever you want to call them they deserve a second chance at being in the NBA and when they left most were surprised but broken-hearted. Not to mention the people of Seattle have been craving for basketball and not to mention they have a new arena or they could always build on

3- Pittsburgh- Pittsburgh is a major city that it is surprising that they donít have a team. Pittsburgh is rich in sports history with the Steelers being one of the greatest franchises in the NFL. The Penguins find themselves in the playoffs quite often and the Pirates seem to be getting better. As for basketball there is nothing. Pittsburgh is big enough to support a team easily. Also with Pittsburgh's university basketball team being decent in the NCAA bracket they might help score a NBA team. Consol Energy Center is a rather new arena that would easily fit a NBA team inside. If the NBA was ever to expand donít be surprised to here Pittsburgh come up a lot.

4- Las Vegas- Las Vegas is the gambling capital of America. With casinos and resorts everywhere, Las Vegas is a major vacation spot. Going to a NBA game might become another thing for tourist to do on their vacation. But the locals would finally get the major league team they have been hoping for. Vegas could be a big time player in free agency for certain players who might want to live in Vegas and enjoy it. Tourist could enjoy a game and still go out to the casino after if you get my drift.

5- Buffalo- Imagine if the NBA were to get a team down there in Buffalo? Could you imagine? New York has 2 NBA teams already with the Knicks and now Brooklyn Nets but imagine if they were to have a 3rd NBA team? But not in New York but in Buffalo I honestly think that they could support an NBA team especially if they have the Bills their NFL team

Don't think the league is anywhere near expansion based on the level of quality and quantity of said quality of players available in each draft. This league isn't suited for more than 30 teams right now.

But, the best cities are the ones that you listed (outside of Buffalo, don't think that's manageable). Not to highjack this thread, but I'd just like to throw this quick thought process at everyone and see if it's rejected by the majority:

Contract 1 team in the league (league now has 29 teams). Allow the 16 best teams into the playoffs each season. Balance the schedule to make that more appropriate (so, you face each of the other 28 teams 3 times for a total of 84 games).

Interesting but I think the league is perfect with 30 teams but if they were to expand then 32 teams for the NBA would actually be perfect, 16 teams in the East and 16 teams in the West it would be perfect

No it wouldn't, the league is already thin as it is in terms of franchise-changing players and competitive all-stars at every position. Expanding doesn't mean more Golden States or San Antonio Spurs, it means two more Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Bobcats

Nope, there's no case where expansion brings about better teams unless there's a greater insertion of talent in the league which there has not been to account for the current # of teams we currently have anyway

Actually expansion does bring about better teams case in point for example in the NHL when the Quebec Nordiques became the Colorado Avalanche and in their first season as the Avalanche they ended up winning the Stanley Cup but that is the NHL but in the NBA then you do bring up an interesting point

That's not expansion, that's moving a team to a different city and changing its logo & nickname.

Fair enough but personally I feel there are cities who are worthy of having teams

Worthy of having teams does not equal a good idea for the NBA to add teams though

Yes but even so they have the revenue to make it happen and not to mention do you know how much media attention a Vegas team would have

Las Vegas has its' pros and cons, but I think it would be a good possibility. How about Kansas City?
