No one is offering something like that right now, it was a hypothetical question.

Some of the shine may have faded off of Glasnow and Meadows when they traded for them, but Glas was still a 6'8 24 year old arm who dominated in the minor leagues as a starter, averaged over 97 mph with his fastball and racked up the strikeouts. Kudos to TB scouting for finding an arm like that they could pry away from someone. He was still someone with the talent to be a top 15 prospect in all of baseball for like 3 seasons before 2017. Pitt gave up and moved him to the bullpen due to control issues, but when TB traded for him he had 72 K's in 56 innings with an ERA of 4.34. The potential was still there if he could ever throw strikes.

Meadows was a 23 year old rookie when they traded for him slashing .292/.327/.468 over his first 50 games in the big leagues. He had one bad season in 2017 in AAA, but heading into 2017 he was ranked 6th overall by both Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus.

So if some team comes calling with 2 guys that were both in the top 15 in all of baseball less than 12 months ago and are both MLB ready whenever you want to use them. One being a CF who can hit for avg and power and the other being a pitcher with TORP potential....you make that deal.

If they are planning on trading Stroman then you have to look at SD and Houston. They both have a bunch of guys in the top 100

San Diego makes so much sense. They're looking for pitching, and have been linked to Stroman. It would be interesting to see where the scouts are spending a lot of their time between now and the deadline.

They do. I doubt they would get Gore and Paddock, Meija and Tatis are already up so that kind of limits their top end prospects but they do have some nice pieces.

Houston does as well and the back end of that rotation isn't very sexy. Again, highly doubt they would trade Whitley or Tucker but they too have some nice pieces

I'm also very high on Strahm, but usually guys that have already cracked the show don't get dealt as their needed in the rotation too. But one can always hope.

You guys are over valuing Stroman right now. He's coming off an injury and he's small in stature. Teams are going to want to see ample evidence that he's healthy before paying a premium for him. And like it or not being 5-12 over these last 2 seasons doesn't help. One month of quality pitching doesn't erase many doubts. Now if he keeps that sub 2 ERA through July you may have something but for now you're jumping the gun. people already have unfair biases about him because of his size. They aren't fair but you can't pretend they don't exist. His whole career has been driven by his understanding that those prejudices do exist.

Read Hantons post earlier about Glasgow he explains very well about the Biases that talent evaluators have, and like elephants they have long memories.....recency bias also comes into play as well so Stroman has to get past a few hurdles that others do not to build up that value.

is it fair no it isnt but we're dealing with reality here and a 6'5 pitcher will grade out better than one who is 5'8, everything else being equal every time, and even though Stroman has experience, his recent issues are like "I told you so's" to evaluators.

We're not overvaluing him. We said if that deal was offered you take it.

It's not a valid trade scenario though so not point in discussing it
