He had a slow start last year or the year before, give him some time. It's still early.

This might be hid Dickey deal. I didn't like the trade then and even less now. a Stripling is a dime a dozen. He's our 2021 Matz pick up except cost us less valuable players (SRF) and has actually produced for us.

The trade never made sense, and probably never will.

I think Stripling is fine. He'd be a lot better if he was strictly a long reliever. Kendall Williams is a long, long way from the show.

I agree with your sentiment. We really gave up nothing to get a former all-star, but for the life of me I don't understand how he became one. I was on the send-him back to the bull pen, or release him wagon, but today's performance has restored some faith in him for me. I'm content with another start or two to see if this was a fluke.

Stripling trade was always about timing. Did we need an all star reliever the next 2.5 year? Whether it was worth it is probably depends who you ask.

I donít think they looked at him as a reliever.

8 earned tnite with 2 walks in 3.2. He might be cooked.

    Lol

I mean, Williams may be Thor but that's a heavy comp.for a guy with 4 innings above rookie ball.

I also remember people kicking up a stink over Cal Stevenson

Ouch. I had him in fantasy and dealt him before the season.

I think a big part of that comp is his hair tbh. Kinda silly. Doesnít pitch much like syndy at all.

Lots of rumblings that the Nats will deal Scherzer this year if they arenít in it at the deadline.

It'd be crazy if they didnt. Could get you a top 100 prospect easy.
