I just don't post too much anymore but I spend a lot of time on Twitter now. This is generally a slow time anyways but I feel with Twitter this forum is perhaps slowing a bit. But I do not post on Twitter much and I do still like to come in here and have more in depth conversations and views.

Same. I love to use twitter to get sports news but you can't really have any good conversation. On this forum I know I'm going to get good back and forth conversation. Sites like twitter definitely are hurting forums like this, though. PSD isn't the same as it used to be unfortunately. When I first signed up for this site it was packed full of fans. Now a lot of the team forums have no fans at all. Luckily the Vikings forum has remained pretty active.

Forums are sadly dying. Sucks, but it's true. Also, the fact that it's the offseason, draft is over, and zero sports going on doesn't help things..

Yeah, unfortunately old-school message boards like these are dying. I hate it. I love Twitter for staying on top of sports news, stats, film study, etc, but I hate it for in-depth discussion, and, more importantly, the true feeling of "community."

Did any of you ever check in at Purple Thoughts over the years? They kind of randomly closed shop several months back. Is this forum ever in danger of that? Anyway, I've been in the blogging community for over a decade now, and several of our message boards randomly shut down, so a friend and I got together and said, "Eff it! Let's start our own." Well, that was six years ago, and we're still going strong. I'd say we have a decent community, and one of the busier old-school Vikings boards around. We also recently merged with MVN (Minnesota Vikings Nation), if you guys are familiar with that community. We're also affiliated with a small Bears board, Lions board, and Packers board. So, with one click, you can chat it up with other NFCN fans. The Bears fans, especially, are a great group of guys. We might also team up with a Minnesota Sports board and/or have them merge into our community. That's still up in the air.

Either way, if this board is ever in danger of shutting off the lights, definitely check us out and consider joining. If you guys came over as a group, we could transfer your post count and all of that. We have no issues doing that, to somewhat have/keep your post history/seniority, so to speak.

As someone who has been effed over several times over the years with boards randomly shutting down (and losing friends in the process), we'd A) Be happy to have you guys and B) Would love to help you guys stay together.

We usually keep discussion flowing, even during the slow months, but we also have plenty of Off Topic discussion (in a hidden forum to non-members, so people don't join for the wrong reasons). But we discuss all kinds of stuff: favorite shows/movies, cooking/grilling, weekend plans, ghost stories, etc. You name it! Yes, we also discuss some other more intense things, but we expect all members to do so respectfully. That's the case 90% of the time.

Anyway, keep us in mind for the future! SKOL!

Not sure if you're messing around or not, but there is A LOT of speculation about trading for him. I think it was initially brought up by Yates in one of those "possible trades" pieces, and it really took off.

I would love to acquire King but it seems these rumors are mostly grasping at straws. Jaleel Johnson tweeted something with King's initials and then a Chargers blog ran with it. There isn't much to go off of here. He would be a great fit and I hope it happens but I'm not getting excited based off what little info we have now.

Doogie did tweet that there was some buzz about Minnesota and King before the draft but he hasn't heard anything new. I expect the Vikings to bring in a veteran DB but my guess is they'll sign somebody. Kirkpatrick makes the most sense given his past with Zimmer and he'll be cheap. King is cheap too but would require giving up a draft pick. Good luck getting Rick to give away a draft pick.

It did make total sense. I just can't believe how cheap they got him for. Only $550,000 of his contract is guaranteed. That's nuts for a player of his caliber!

I have an LG TV I bought 5 years ago...still love the set, but I can't seem to get the cable connection to work since I moved. I've been streaming only for years, but used to have a digital antenna hooked up for local channels. Now I can't seem to get the TV to even recognize anything is connected. This has been two different antennas, two different cables, and even following a factory reset on the TV. Any ideas on what silly something I might be missing? I know you're in installation which doesn't necessarily mean service, but I'm having a hard time thinking of replacing a perfectly good TV over this.

Probably a dumb question but have you tried running a channel scan again since you moved?

on both antennas, before and after doing the factory reset....finds nothing when I should find about 15 here

it's just weird...why a port would just stop working, no clue.....TV as a whole works otherwise perfectly

Try a different coax cable?
Have you tried the antennas on another TV in the house just for the hell of it? I doubt 2 would go bad though.

Also possible the coax connection on the TVs main board got damaged during your move.
