Evereth Cabrera has been non-tendered and is now a free agent per MLB Trade Rumors.

It looks like we have a good chance at landing James Shields.

There were some rumors floating around that you guys might be interested in Luis Sardinas from the Brewers to potentially play SS for you. As a Brewers fan, I was wondering what you might be willing to give up for Sardinas if you were willing to make a trade. He's a young, switch hitting SS. He projects to be a plus defender and was listed on the Rangers top prospect lists coming up, usually fairly highly. The higher he rose though, he typically started to fall a bit on their lists. He's never going to be a big hitter, but he has some decent contact skills and should be a threat on the bases. I wonder what you guys might be willing to part with for that.

I would think for us, controllable pitching or corner IF minor league depth (preferably upper level help) would probably be what we're looking for. Between our major league team and minor league system, we're plenty deep at OF and middle IF, so those positions probably aren't ideal.

Have been thinking about this since I saw that report my self...

I would definitely sacrifice a Wisler maybe even a bullpen piece.

I would take Wisler in a heartbeat for Sardinas, but in all honesty, that's probably too much. I wouldn't think it would need to be a top 100 guy at all, give that Sardinas was starting to slip in the ranking anyways. Depending how your rotation works out, I was thinking we would ask for either Despaigne or depending on health, Casey Kelly.

Depending on how Preller views Sardinas him I definitely could see a Casey Kelly or Despaigne.
