Whats the least talented team you could send to WIN the World Cup

Try to keep the All-Star caliber guys to a minimum. Even tho they choked, the Spaniards are the standard to beat.

    Magic Johnson/Reggie Jackson
    Kobe/Tony Allen
    Michael Jordan/Pippen
    Barkley/Lee/Rodman
    O'neal/R Lopez/Plumlee

All at current age. I think could win.

OP pretty much answered his question in the second post. I don't suppose it gets any better than that. They would get lucky to receive bronze imo.

I think if you take any nba team as it currently stands,
That they would be able to win gold.
Any team except for the rockets,
    Bk nets,jazz,and Philly.

Well maybe Philly can win but not them other teams: because they just flat out garbage.

I was doing something similar in my head the other day -- trying to come up with as many US Teams as I could before I got to one that would not be in contention internationally. It was somewhere around 15 teams for me.

    Think:

    PG: Norris Cole
    SG: Vince Carter
    SF: Evan Turner
    PF: D. Lee
    C: Deandre Jordan

Bench: Danny Green, Garnett, Terrence Jones

Not that those are the 15th best US players at their position, but that I could make around 14 better teams, and this one is around the breaking point, but it would still fare well.

Here's my all-non-all-star American team I'd send to the Olympics:

    PG: Kyle Lowry, Monta Ellis
    SG: Arron Afflalo, Kevin Martin
SF: Chandler Parsons, Trevor Ariza, Jeff Green
    PF: Josh Smith, Ryan Anderson
    C: DeAndre Jordan, Al Jefferson

I would have included Kawhi Leonard and Lance Stephenson, but I think they'll become all-stars this year. Lowry's great, but it's iffy for him with Derrick Rose and Kyrie Irving in the same conference. It would be nice to include Paul Milsap, but he became an all-star last year.
Here's an all-Rising Stars team, also non-all-star and non-Olympics, if you want to make the Olympics even more interesting:

    PG: Michael Carter-Williams, Trey Burke
SG: Victor Oladipo, Ben McLemore, Tim Hardaway, Jr.
    SF: Jabari Parker, Otto Porter
PF: Aaron Gordon, Julius Randle, Noah Vonleh
    C: Nerlens Noel, Cody Zeller

It's kind of difficult finding decent small forwards for that team. With the clear size advantage, though, I'd have the shooting guards for the U.S. playing some 3.
