I think you’re thinking of Jeff Kent. We gave up Young for Esteban Loiaza

Sorry about that, you're right, the Michael Young trade was terrible.

Yeah, but Loaiza was never good. That's just an example of a bad trade.

Incorrect. He was good in 2003. 226 ip. 2.90era 1.13. Finished 2nd in cy young voting to…..Roy Halladay. 7.2 WAR.
This was the year AFTER the jays where
He had back to back over 5 era seasons.

Worst part of this trade is that we bought LOW on loiaza ( a man with over 50 pct vowels In his name, save some for the rest of us bro) with a 5 era at the time and still gave up a hell of a player in michael young

Not sure why, but this post feels like classic Wamco.

In a good way of course.

It's amazing how long that guy was able to pitch considering how mediocre/bad he was.

Congratulations to AA in the Braves. Good to see Freddie get a ring, just goes to prove that all you have to do is get in and anything can happen. Look at the playoffs Soler and Rosario had. Unbelievable

Absolutely. And to think, if they were in the AL East, Braves don't even make the playoffs. The tall task is making sure we are able to get in for a stretch of many seasons in spite of our division to give ourselves ample opportunity to hold that trophy up.

All credit to the Braves though. And doing it without Acuna is pretty impressive.

Yup and we have a solid young core to help us do that. Committing to the farm from day 1 is a move that’ll pay dividends for this franchise. The Braves have a solid numbers of young players/arms all come up around the same time.

Doing it without Acuna was pretty good though. I almost forgot that Mile Soroka is a Brave too.

Whats crazy is they didnt even spend anything meaningful prospects wise. They traded cash and Sandoval for Rosario and Soler costs a A+ reliever they drafted in 2019.

Hell of a buy low find.

They mentioned on RSN that when Cardinals won with 83 games, Jays were 2nd in AL East with 87 wins and were 4th in the WC race (Tigers won WC with 95 wins).

That's why they need to realign divisions and/make the playoffs by record instead of divisions (would need to cchange schedules for that.

For any Gibbons fans out there, apparently he was doing scouting for the Braves this year and might get himself a ring out of the Braves championship too.
