He's only 18 but his swing looks so mature I can only imagine what it will be 2 years from now. He's probably going to end up at either 3B or a corner outfield.

He's a switch hitter with a good bat and lots of power

    Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 40 | Arm: 50 | Field: 45 | Overall: 50

I'm going to follow his development.
Itís wild how different he is on either side of the plate. More of an uppercut lefty swing as opposed to a level righty swing. The bat speed from the left is MUCH faster too. Definitely looks like he has more power from the left.

Yea It's possible he was forced to try switch hitting at a young age - just to improve his chances at making it

McDaniels Top 50 Prospects - new draftees included. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/sto...-mlb-prospects

    Moreno: 6
    Martinez: 19
    Tiedemann: 41

Berriera didn't make the Top 50, but he is included as our next best prospect after those 3.

Half of the Top 10 prospects on the list are with AL East teams. Orioles specifically will be having a big wave of talent coming.

Hopefully the orioles hire atkins to manage that window of opportunity.

Hey, you could be right. Every executive has strengths and weaknesses, it may take a different guy to get us to the finish line.

Updated prospect lists on MLB.com with new draftees added. Barriera and Toman come in at 4/5 on our list. No surprise.

Tiedemann is up 34th overall in baseball. Martinez down into the 70ís.

Sounds like Jays are landing Emmanuel Bonilla as an IFA. There are 4 high end IFA prospects in this years class. Bonilla ranked among them at 4. 4 million in IFA dollars. More than they used for Vladdy or Martinez. Huge get for the pipeline.

16 year old OF prospect. He is big, strong hit tool, great arm. Expected to play corner OF eventually, but will probably be given a chance to develop in CF.

This type of prospect is like having a Top 10 pick IMO. Great job by the scouts.

Our IFA scouting continues to be along the strongest parts of our organization.

Kirk, Vladdy, Moreno, Martinez, Zulueta etc. Hopefully they can develop this kid into another success.

Jays really need OF prospects. We played our best when outfield could all hit, power, speed, glove. The Barfield, Bell, Moseby era. Then again during Carter, Devo, Winfield era

ummmm, pretty sure Gurriel, Springer and Teo can all hit. Another prospect that may need to go to the OF too is Addison Barger....possibly my new favorite position prospect.....even over Moreno. He's got an electric and powerful left handed swing that just kept getting better and better all season. He's only 22 and he hit 26 HR's and 33 2B's with a slash line of .310/.380/.558 over 521 PAs (across 3 levels) this year. He struck out 130 times, but it took over 100 AB's more to get to that number than the season before, so he is gradually cutting them down. If he makes another improvement somehow next year they could be looking at something pretty special.

Bonilla is a ways away still, but it is definitely an area where we've struggled to find/develop OF prospects in the draft. The Gurriel signing and Teoscar trade worked wonderful in shoring up the OF for now, but with Springer's age and not much time on Gurriel or Teo's contracts, it is reasonable to expect we will need some new blood out there.

Yea, he has come along beautifully this year. I hadn't heard of him before this season. There are always prospects that come out of nowhere and others we follow for a long time that just fade away it seems. You think Barger has a shot at an MLB role next year?

Gurriel....you can take him. He's not my favorite player. He can hit yes. But no base running instinct, below average glove and injury prone. Makes him average joe. From power position I want more
