I've always liked Davidson. As a 5-6 defenseman, he's solid. If he's playing top-4 minutes, you're probably in trouble though.
I just don't see us trading for Panarin with him a year away from free agency. If anything, we'd sign him for free when he becomes a free agent if we have the cap space to do so. I'd love to have the Breadman back, but if anything, it'd be as a free agent signing next year. If we're trading for a rental LW, I think Pacioretty would be more likely. Coming off a down year at age 29, his cost might be reduced both in terms of trade value and potential contract if we were to re-sign him. If he'd agree to a 6x$6 million extension, I'd happily trade for him depending on what we were giving up. I think Breadman signs for $8 million aav at the very least, with a high chance that he's getting $9 million+ aav. I'd only trade for Breadman if he was insistent on the 8th year and was willing to do an 8x$8 million extension.
On a side note, I can't wait for the training camp festival on the 15th. I'm hoping to see Crawford at least skate a little if he doesn't play. If he's not out there at least skating, that's a huge red flag for me. I wonder if he starts the season on LTIR.
