I like him getting the call up on a road trip. Let him get some work in before his home start.

I 💯 % agree with this and thought the same thing myself. It should take some of the pressure off the kid!

    Acuna update:

MRI revealed a mild ACL sprain in his left knee, a left knee contusion and lower back contusion. He'll be placed on the 10 day DL and re-evaluated after that period.
    great news

Doesn't even sound like it's as bad as Harper's, so that's great

Today we sent Peterson back down and called up Bourjous again. Released Aaron Blair to make room, in a surprising move. I'm guessing they felt safe nobody would claim him with his shoulder recovery?

he didn't have tommy john. this is according to mlbtraderumors.com
Blair will miss the entire 2018 season after the procedure, which addressed a capsule tear, David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports in a story and Twitter update.
I believe DOB also said that the Braves were going to continue to pay for the rehab of Blairs shoulder and that this was done possibly so they could bring him back on a minor league deal without him taking up a 40-man spot.

    RIP Gene Wilder

It was the shoulder. He did it fielding a play at home. Sounds like it was because to put him on the 60 day they’d have to call him up then do it and that would mean they pay him a majors salary the rest of the year. Now they’re paying for his rehab.

This is the way Bowman explained it.

My bad just read surgery quickly in the story and assumed Tommy John lol

His ERA in AAA last year was 5.02 in 127.1IP, Sure seems there isn't much there.

The Braves announced a series of roster moves Monday, selecting the contract of outfielder Michael Reed from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioning right-hander Matt Wisler to Gwinnett as well. Atlanta also placed Peter Moylan on the 10-day DL due to a right forearm strain and recalled righty Evan Phillips from Gwinnett in his place.

I am surprised Moylan wasn't just dfa'd. I know he is a veteran presence in the locker room but, I really don't think he has been that solid of an option out of the pen.

Hopefully Phillips will be up longer than half a day this time and we can see what we got in him.

    RIP Gene Wilder
