Nick Young is doing so well as a 6th man but the Lakers are near the bottom. Will the bad team record increase or decrease his chance of winning the award ?

Nick young is a nice player but he has no shot since the Lakers record is so terrible. Clippers are having their best season and will likely finish 3rd in the west, possibly 2nd depending how the last week and a half finishes.

It typically does. Just go look at recent winners...most/all are on good teams.

Should it? I don't think so. But like most awards (besides maybe ROY for obvious reasons) it usually is greatly impacted by team success.

I think it's partially based on team performance. I can't remember the last 6th man of the year that wasn't on a playoff team.
