    Rockets sign Marcus Camby

    Marc J. Spears ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo 1h
Rockets will sign free agent center Marcus Camby today, an NBA source told Y! Sports.
Basketball is like war in that offensive weapons are developed first, and it always takes a while for the defense to catch up.

this has nothing to do with asik.

camby is simply an insurance policy at this point, if either dwight or asik go down. Greg Smith was useful last year, but when he played center, the rockets defense was atrocious. this move is to make sure greg smith doesnt play center (yet...hes only 22)

Funny because he was so unhappy about not getting playing time with the Knicks last year.

Probably not going to play much at all. But his only options were Houston and Chicago... he's a 3rd stringer in either scenario.

Good insurance policy though. Needs to get himself healthy, but he is like 50 lol.

He will also be a mentor for Greg smith. Which would great for smith because he struggles to defend the paint.

Since no one can shoot outside the paint, yes it will definitely not work.

2nd Stringer for the Bulls * he would have out played Naz if he stayed Healthy . And him passing a physical at the age of 39 is impressive

Yea this doesn't make sense to me. He kept complaining about his minutes, his agent kept saying he was healthy and able to play and wanted to go somewhere he can get minutes, than he signed as a 3rd stringer? Either he wasn't/isn't as healthy as they claimed, or they are privvy to something on the horizon. Surprised he didn't go to MIA, but he said last year when he was weighing NY/MIA, that after his early career Knicks tenure, he couldn't see himself ever wearing a Heat jersey, so maybe he still feels that way.

They better move Asik for an upgrade at PG.

Not even sure Miami wants him, he's too slow for their style.
